Fatty Liver Brought Me Here

Hi everyone.

I am Karen. I'm 53, and apparently my thighs are not the only thing fat. My liver is too.

I've been advised to lose no more than 2 pounds per week, and my goal is to do the best I can with my weight goals.

I lost a father and grandfather to fatty liver that went to cirhossis. I hope to keep that from happening to myself.

My issue is exercise. I don't really eat that much, or foods that are bad for me.

Something in my health right now is making my bones and muscles sore (we are working on that, please God don't let it be something BAD), so I do mostly walking and ballroom dancing.

I work odd hours (9 a.m. to 6 p.m.) which also makes it hard to exercise. I'm gonig to try to figure this out though. I love zumba but m y bones do not like it. I'd be at zumba every night if it were not for that.

I hope you all are finding success. Thank you Lyse for sending me here xoxoxo

    Hey Karen!
I also hated working out and work 9am-6pm. What I had to do was tell myself...Being healthy feels better than sitting around in my few hours of free time. I don't go to the gym everyday of course but when I think.."Man, I'd really like to sit and watch TV before dinner and bedtime" I know what I really need to do..is get in the gym and I always feel better about myself and my health after. If what you are doing is really painful take it easy until you find you can work a little harder. If you hurt you wont go back!

    Good Luck!

Welcome! This is a great place to find people to support you through your journey! I was never an "exerciser" but have found I have more energy when I do exercise.

Welcome & you will find alot of support here. Its hard when we do not feel good. But along this journey--you will feel better & better. Just take it easy.
  • Thank you everyone. A fellow fatty liver gal pointed me in this direction.

My problem with exercise right now is I am battling something that is making my limbs ache terribly. I see an endocrin metabolism specialist in a few weeks and a hepatologist as well.

We hope to ferret out what is making my bones ache and my muscles weak. We've already ruled out some very SCARY things. I'm hoping it is only my VitD deficiency.

Right now I struggle through the muscle fatigue as best I can. I do ballroom dance one day a week and walk many others. Once we figure out what is going on with my limbs I'll be in pilates class and some sort of cardio class as well (I love Zumba but wonder if my *whatever is going on* will stand it.

So, to all of you thank you for the lovely welcome. I seem to be under my calorie points each day, I don't know if that is good or bad. I'm trying to eat a whole lot better (and am succeeding) :)
