How do I find a 5k race?

I've never done a 5k before, and would like to set one as a goal to reach. How do I go about finding one in my area?

    A lot of mine are on Active.com. But really the way I started getting more connected with the local running scene was by going to running stores. Lots of them have running clubs and newsletters and Facebook pages and all kinds of ways to help you find out what's going on in your area.
