Reducing my butt

Hi all, My training is going well and my upper body/waist is toning up nicely, but I think I may be neglecting my lower half.
Is it better to go low reps/heavy weight or high reps/light weights? Looking to reduce and tone butt, hips & thighs.
I should add that I am not allowed to squat heavy.

to reduce the butt and tone the legs I would recommend high repetion and low weight. The good old fashioned various lunge excercises: round the world lunge, split jump lunge, side lunges with medicine ball, walking lunges with weights in your hands. AND squats! I do many different types of squats including jumping and landing or ski jump squats. I use a medicine ball jump like I am skiing and land in a squat. Concentrate on form when you land. I have been doing this for 6 weeks and my legs and butt are more toned. I use heavier weights for my upper body. when I was lifting heavy on my legs and lower body, I looked bulky.

Well the answer is to squat and deadlift heavy, you always want to do low reps with higher weight (don't listen to anyone who says otherwise). But then you said you can't squat heavy. Do as much as you can?

I am not allowed to squat heavy (women's issues) but could do the dead lift. And lunges. I know which excersises to do, just unsure of the weight/rep ratio.
  • You can try lunges, with no weight, high reps, and any pushing exercises again high repetition. Don't know if pushing is allowed with your conditions. But little things can be done at high reps to help the lower body

Thank you - that's what I thought too.

I love Brazil Butt Lift. It's been great, done with a band and ankle weights.
