HELP!! I'm in a rut... feeling depressed and unmotivated

So I have been getting up most mornings at 5 to go to the gym and work out on the elliptical for an hour before work. I watch what I eat and typically stay at my 1200 MFP calorie goal. While getting dressed this morning, I got very depressed when pants I had just bought last month no longer fit. I couldn't even button them. It is so frustrating!! My CW is 128, but I would like to get down to 115. I am 5f2, so I think 115 is a very reasonable goal.
I was almost in tears this morning trying to get dressed. Help!!

Chin up! I think you need to look at you food logs what are you eating? I would see about changing this up a bit. Are you drinking you water? Are you eating enough? Are you eat back your exercise gained calories? I would go back to a week that you had a good weight loss and repeat the week- Eat the same foods.0

Oh honey, don't be depressed! Maybe your body is just having an off day. Maybe something you ate is making you bloated. Maybe your period is coming. And if you're depressed and you fall off track, then those pants fitting will never be reality!
You've already had weight loss! That's a great thing!!!!
Remember that! and forget the pants...after all, they are just a dumb ol' pair of pants!0 -
Thank you ladies! Maybe it is just being bloated. I don't know it is just so frustrating when you gain weight back so quickly. I do realize it was just the holidays, but with the exception of 2 days I still ate healthy. I average about 1200-1300 calories a day. With exercise I am able to eat 1800. I drink about 64 oz of water a day and occasionally have a diet Pepsi. I was able to get down to 116 a few months ago and have quickly jumped back up to 128. It's so depressing and just makes me want to not spend the time and effort I put into the gym.0

Agree with previous posts...maybe your period is coming, which would cause you to bloat and retain water. I think we all "fall of the wagon" every now and then...that's part of life, and it's very realistic and common. What's important is that you now get back on track and I bet you'll fit in those jeans in no time!
Also, have you switched up your workout routine lately? Your body gets used to routines and you don't drop lbs anymore. Try adding in weights or another type of cardio (swimming, running, etc.)0 -
I know the feeling...not good. Don't get down on yourself...your still beautiful, just as you are!!
Be kind to yourself...think about what may be bloating you...soda, carbonated beverages.
Try drinking hot water, sipping it throughout the day...it's supposed to help keep the digestive fires
burning...it's worth a try!! Good Luck, and be grateful for all your blessings!!0 -
Like our good friend Bob on BL says:
"Don't get down if you get in a rut... just do what you did on day 1... start again... eventually you'll get there"
Hang in there champ! YOU CAN DO IT!0 -
Oh and also, Bob says "it's not a fall - it's a trip... and after you trip you get right back up again"
I think we should start a mantra: "WWBD"
What would Bob do ;-)0 -
I like the mantra! Bob does know what he is talking about :-)0
