Nike+ sport kit for iPod/iphone

Has anyone used this with NON Nike shoes with the little pouch they sell? Does it still read accurately?

    I've used Nike+ with Asics for about 2 years now and I don't see any real problem with the difference. You can calibrate it, but if you know a route you usually do, do the same and just sense check that its right!

    Thanks. I may pick one up. I've been using the Nike+running app. It works well outside, but not so well on the treadmill. This might be my solution for indoor runs.
