Green tea to boost metabolism?

I have heard that drinking up to 3 cups a day can be really beneficial for you, but that drinking between 4 - 7 a day can actually help boost metabolism and also help reduce appetite and aid weight loss.

What are people's opinions on this? I'm quite sensetive to caffiene so would need the decaf version but wondered if anyone else drinks green tea regular and has seen an improvement in weight loss or a decrease in appetite?

Hot beverages (any beverage, really) will curb your appetite. The bitterness in green tea (especially genmacha) is good for removing sweets cravings. Not to mention it is good for hydration and a relaxant.

The whole increase-metabolism thing is faulty, but green tea will help reduce stress on a few levels, kill some cravings and is generally considered good for you.

I don't drink green tea, I drink 4 cups of black tea every morning (or, one GIANT cup actually) and so far massive improvement in loss. However, your results may vary.

Green tea suggestions: Genmacha, sencha or oolong. Keep in mind green tea must be brewed with slightly-cooler-than-boiling water or it will be much too bitter.
