I have a Polar F11, and I love it to itty bitties. Its basically like having a personal trainer strapped to my wrist.

Polar F4. It picks up quickly and tracks my calories all day! I thought maybe it was working too well, but supposedly I just burn a lot of calories! I thought my metabolism was shot... but thanks to all (especially Banks) and my polar, I need to get chomping!

I have the Polar F6. I LOVE having a HRM but I'm not sure that the Polar is the best one for me.

    My personal opinion:

    PROS:
Easy to use, easy to get started
Easy to track a week's worth of goals, calories, HR levels, etc.

    CONS:
    * Looks like a cheesy digital watch from 1972. Seriously, for 100 bucks, the thing is so ugly. I wish it looked more sporty, like any normal sports watch. I get embarrassed when I wear it outside the gym.
    * Seems to "lose the signal" fairly often and HR flashes 0
    * In order to tell time, you have to hold it close to your boobs. I wish it just told time and HR at the same time.
    * Doesn't have a stopwatch, so you can't time intervals.
    * I don't like having to record exercises just to see your HR. I wish there was a way to just see your HR all day long without having to click through "Exercise"

Granted, I have only had mine two weeks, so I might still need to learn some of its features, but I'm thinking of upgrading to the new Garmin with GPS.

Wander, 2 of those things are possible

I can't comment on the look of it, as most of them look like the same thing, the nike watch looks the same as the polar.

As to the stopwatch, you can do a countdown timer
    that's in Settings-->Watch-->timer
and you can pause it if you like. That way you can set the total time. I know that's not the same as a stopwatch, but it's pretty close.

And as to the hr without starting a session. you can, just hit ok from the main window and it will tell you what your hr is currently.

Well hot diggity damn! Thanks, Banks. The timer is definitely better than nothing, but a stopwatch would be perfect. But that's okay, I'm glad you pointed that out to me.

Yep, I knew about the HR display, just irks me that you can't see the time of day along with the HR when not in exercise mode. Or see the HR when in normal non-exercise mode.
