Is my diet plan working if I am losing body fat%

I have my calorie intake at 1300. And doing insanity. Many say it is too less and it will not work. I seem to have lost 5% of body fat per the scale and 5 inches overall in month 1. But no weight loss may be a 1lb.

Is my diet plan for 1300 calories working or am i in starvation mode? I do cheat two three meals a week over weekend. I have kept the ratio at 45/30/25, because I just cannot take too much protein.

I know starvation mode has been beaten to death here.

I am open to increasing my calories.
I have a slow metabolism, endomorph, tend to accumulate weight very quickly.

How are you reading your body fat %?

My scale (Taylor?) shows body fat%. It may not be accurate but i did see it reduce from when I started...

Personally I would eat more than 1300 to ensure you don't lose muscle.

You are doing a tough workout so your body needs the fuel.

I wouldn't trust the body fat measure on scales. They are normally not accurate. I can step on mine three times in a row and get a reading that is a lot different from the previous one without changing anything.

I actually stood on it like 10 times in the last couple days variation was only within 1%. so I think it is pretty decent.
I am not the one to believe these numbers by looking at them once ;--)
Plus the inches, without weight loss, must mean something right?

Seems to me like it's working.

Sounds like it's working. Although the first time I did insanity I lost 5 pounds and mega inches in the first month while building muscle; I would think your scale should have moved more than 1 pound by now.

Sounds like its working. Although, I don't agree with you netting only 400 cals on days you work out. That is taking a step back. Your body needs calories to "refuel" after the workout. Eat them back. But I guess if you're not hungry, then don't eat, but if you are...EAT.

BIA is horribly inaccurate. That said I would eat more.....I'm not going to use the phrase "starvation mode" but will say you should eat more to fuel your body if you are working out that much.

Vansy, 5lbs is awesome! I had high hopes for the program, but I am just not able to increase protein intake. Can you share your diet plan and results? I hear you get real results in month 2, was that true in your case?
Can we chat more? Interested in doing the right thing in month 2 to get maximum benefit of the program!

    Erinbeth and Jac,

I will try eating some of the exercise calories back and see if that helps.
    I exercise about 400cals netting around 900..
