Cheats days?

Do you incorporate cheat days into your weight loss plans? And if so what is your definition of a cheat day.

Right now I have 2 different kinds of cheats. I pick one every 2 weeks. It's either 1. I allow myself to go over my calories limit by 400-500 calories and not guilt trip myself about it, 2. I just don't calorie count at all (which for all I know I don't go over my limit but at least the numbers are off my mind.)

#1 is more for the days I want to drink beer, have ice cream, and such. Thankfully I no longer binge eat so this isn't an issue.
#2 is if I'm going to a restaurant/food festival/group dinner that doesn't have nutritional information. I don't want to guesstimate numbers and worry over something that should be treated as a, well, treat.

I don't have cheat days, I just try to incorporate the cheats into my allowance, which I guess is what your #1 would be for me.
I would try not to go over my limit that far and I'd add in some exercise calories to compensate as well. Perhaps eating a bit less (100-250) for a day or two and exercising so you can bank some calories would help.

As for your #2, had that issue the other day. Since I used to work in kitchens, I can estimate what the portion sizes are and I just made smart choices about what I ate (lean protein, veg, sauce on side kind of thing). We did a lot of walking that day too, so I know I did okay.

I didn't worry about any of it and still treated it like a treat and had an awesome day out.
I just find that having numbers, even guesstimates still keeps me accountable, otherwise it becomes all too easy to forget to log food or just write things off as being a cheat day, and that is where I'd fall off the wagon.

My trainer allows 1 cheat day a week, no calorie counting at all- but the other six days zero cheating. and the weight came off like nothing, he says you got to keep the body from going into pilot mode and sock the body to burn. It works. I was 146 now 130. I dont include drinking but my husband does (beer here and there). remember its not a diet its a life change. this way cheat day 1 a week (saturdays for us) is realistic and your not set up to fail- besides my cheat days arent all that since my body doesnt take kindly to fast food since ive been eating healthy or clean. there are saturdays that i just dont even bother. :) but cheat day dosent mean to gorge beyond rediculous ---you know what i mean.
