Fitness Bucket List

I have unconsciously started a Fitness Bucket List. Right now it only has 3 things on it but I'm sure more will be added eventually. My list thus far is:
1) run a half-marathon
2) run a 5K every month for a year (maybe longer)
3) learn to box

Does anyone else have fitness goals like this or a bucket list, per say?

Always looking for good ideas to add to mine!

Replies

  • 1. Try Aqua Zumba
    2. Try Racquetball (I've already purchased the equipment, just having a difficult time convincing hubby it's worth trying.)

    1. Learn boxing (we're in the same boat on this one!)
    2. Do 10 unassisted pull ups
    3. Shatter all of my weight lifting personal records as much as possible!

I probably have a ton more, but this is all I can think of for now that's not already on my profile!
  • 1. Go to the gym every day for the month of August (So far so good!).
    2. Lose 30 pounds before September 17th (My little brother is coming home from the Air Force!)
    3. Be able to run a 5k (and run it well) by this time next year and participate in the Color Run!
    4. Lose 100 pounds by my wedding! Date not set yet, but ring is on finger!!! :D

    1) Run a 10 K (work up to a half marathon)
    2) Join the base softball team (next duty station)
    3) Purchase a weight bench with set of weights **already accomplished**
    4) Hike in Grand Canyon National Park for a day

I'm interested to see what some of the other responses are

    1. Run a 5K in October (2 weeks after my birthday, my college is putting one on. I'm trying to get my fellow weather nerds to participate.)
    2. Run a half marathon by next year sometime (not set in stone, but I still wanna do it some time before the end of next year.)
    3. Do a 90 day challenge.
  • 1. Try Zumba!
    2. Go on a day long hiking trip with my husband
    3. Take a barre class

LOTS more, these are just off the top of my head.

    In no particular order:

-Obtain visible abs, not to keep but just to say I could do it
    -Squat 2x bodyweight
    -Crush something with my thighs
    -Learn actual swimming technique
-Obtain a resting heart rate under 50

Totally stealing the pole dancing class one! Thanks!

Love this thread! Some of mine:

A triathlon (although one of the easier ones).
Hike into (and out again) of the Grand Canyon.
    Get certified to SCUBA dive.
Ballet class (I was good at this, once!).
Re-create Basho's "Narrow Road Through the Back Country" walk in Japan (or at least part of it).
    Biking Tuscany.
    Walking tour of England.
  • - Finish a hike in Mt. Baldy
    - Deadlift 190 pounds
    - 20 pull ups
    - Run my first marathon

I have always wanted to do a triathlon.
I cant really swim laps, I surely don't run, and my butt kills after 5 miles on the bike.
I have a lot of work to do...

Get to the point where I can...

Complete the Iron Maiden challenge (53lb weighted pistol squats, military press, pull-up)
    Barre class
Do a headstand in yoga class

For those that want to try boxing I encourage you to go for it. I gave it a good 8 mo run before I had to relocate and leave my gym (couldn't find a comparable one in new location). It's so much fun to hit something!

    - 5k (doing it in October)
    - Maybe a 10k (I may have to work at it for Tough Mudder)
    - Be able to do 20 unassisted push-ups
    - Be able to do a push-up with one hand (I saw Jillian Michaels do this, so inspiring!)
    - Compete in the Tough Mudder (and survive!)
    - Get visible abs
    - Get visible muscles in arms

It's interesting to see what's out there.

    2. Become able to do one-arm pullups (currently at 70lbs assistance)
    3. Six pack abs (right now I have a slightly defined 4-pack lol)

    -Develop well defined muscles
-To make the Grim Reaper run hard and fast to catch me! : )

I'm sorry that you aren't allowed to play anymore :( . It's such a shame since you enjoyed it so much.

I'm going to show hubby your post, maybe it'll be the push needed to getting him onto the court :) . I purchased eye protection, and, LOL, a mouth/teeth guard - whatever it's called - :embarassed: . The salesclerk probably chuckled the rest of the day when I left the store  . Oh, well. I've played tennis with hubby and know the mouth protection is probably going to come in handy. Thanks about the advice about not turning around :glasses: .
