A strange question about feet!

Hello everyone,

Over the past year. I've lost 13 kilos (29 pounds) and I'm very surprised to find that my shoe size has changed! I never really thought that I'd lose fat from my feet. I'd say I've gone down 1.5 - 2 shoe sizes. Has anybody else experienced this???

Yes, I take a UK 9 (US 11) normally but now I can wear some 8s which is great news when you have big feet

Absolutely. When i was putting weight on i changed 1.5 sizes. My shoes are getting looser. Odd isn't it?

I also noticed when in the bath the other day that my big toes have got noticably skinnier

Thanks for the quick replies! It's REALLY odd. I was only verging on overweight to start with (upper limit of health weight range), so I didn't have a particularly large amount of weight to lose, which makes it all the stranger.

It's quite annoying. I like my shoes!

You're like me. I've never been overweight, just heavier than I was comfortable with. Since I've been on MFP and lost 21lbs my feet are 2 sizes smaller, now I haven't got 1 pair of heels that I can wear as they just fall off when I walk, lol!
I'm obviously pleased with the weight loss but I have some beautiful heels that'll (hopefully!) never fit me again but I can't afford to replace them.
I  my heels and I miss them!

I believe this! When I got fat I couldn't fit into any of my old shoes! Now I can.

I went from a size 8 to a 7-7.5 after losing 30lbs so its possible. Everyone keeps telling me I'm crazy though

Why? Why is this so surprising? No one is surprised when their rings get loose. You lose fat from all over your body but everyone thinks their feet will be the single exception? Why?

This hasn't happened to me except when I was pregnant went up in shoe size so it does make sense that if you lose weight you may go down in shoe size.

Seeing as I haven't shrunk in hight, I would not expect my feet to get shorter. Also, I have never worn wide fitting shoes.
