I think I want to start weight litfing....I've tried everything else and my body isnt looking the way I want it to. I am very very active, playing softball and kickball constantly I've done insanity and turbofire and a lot of jillian michaels videos so I think it's time for a new adventure.

Can anyone give me some tips on this, basically, how can I make it worth it? I need some motivators please!!

Read Starting Strength by Mark Rippetoe or New Rules of Lifting For Women by Lou Schuler and realize what you've been missing out on!

Make it worth it??? What's that even mean?

The motivation should come from your desire to look better, be stronger, etc etc. Not much we can do about that.

Do a little research on New Rules of Lifting for Women and any of the 5x5 compound lifting programs (starting strength or stronglifts). Decide which one sounds better for you and have at it.

Make sure your diet is where it should be, and make sure your expectations are in check (not sure what "my body isn't looking the way I want it to" means, but there are a lot of people on this site with ridiculous expectations of what they can achieve in what time frame with what level of commitment.)

Make it worth it...I mean, I don't want to completely commit to something and then find out I should have been doing something differently or that I have been doing it wrong. I want to do it right the first time so that I can better myself every step of the way. What I meant by my body doesn't look how I want it to is simply that...I wouldnt say I'm fat, but I want to see more muscle and definition, what chick doesn't want that? Right...I know...I'm just ready to stop letting the videos push me and take control pushing myself harder.

I started reading The New Rules of Weight Lifting for Women, so far it has been quite interesting...i'm ready for this. :)
