Can someone help me out???

I started over again on MFP on Sunday, and I started going back to the gym on Monday. I have gone to the gym 3 days in a row since, I'm really psyched about getting back to the gym...but I don't think my body is. I was so physically exhausted today I felt sick a good part of the day, I was all achy (on top of the sore muscles from working out) & just felt like crap.
I did a little over an hour workout all 3 days, with a mix of strength training & cardio. I definitely pushed myself by the end of it yesterday. I know I am definitely out of shape & have to get back into the swing of things, so I know it's going to be rough in the beginning.
So, my question is...should I go today??? I feel better now that I'm up & about. I was thinking if I do go, maybe only do the treadmill or something lighter today, to at least get something in. I don't physically think i can do any strength training today. If anyone has any ideas for my please let me know...

You have to remember you body needs rest...that's how it heals itself!! In the beginning you want to push yourself, but you don't want to get discouraged. If you must do something keep it light for example walking, and make sure you stretch those muscle groups that you worked, I know they hurt, but stretching will make them feel better. I hope this helps and hope you feel better!!0

Go and do a light workout if you are up to it. A light exercise is better than nothing. BUT if you feel like you just can't then take the day off. Also. Try alternating aerobic and strength days until your endurance picks up a little bit. Go full out aerobic on your aerobic days, then if on your strength days you wanna throw in som cardio, just kick it down a few notches and do a light cardio on those days. Hope this helps.0

i go to PT every other day to the fact the work regiment I do is very intense on my body ( i was in an accident 3mo ago), on my days i do not go I feel guilty about not working out so I do something simple and low impact on my body like walk even if its just around the mall a few times. Im still getting exercise and not hurting myself doing it. I can not wait till the cold and snow is gone so I can walk outside more. I do know that after I do work out I feel full of energy and cant sit still and it is a wonderful high. I just have to try to remember that feeling when I do not feel like working out.0

Since your last workouts have been heavy, I would just do a light workout. I personally work out 2 days, rest, 2 days, rest... but that's what works for me. Just remember that your body does need rest. I wouldn't go all out today if I were you, just something light!0
