Weightloss and adoult acne?

Hey guys, sorry for making another post today but I have a problem. In recent months I lost quite a lot of weight 35 lbs (I was 163 lb and now I am 128 lbs, my goal is 119bl) and I noticed that the acne I did not have for last 8 years reapeared. I didn't even have much as a teen, just a zit here and there. I am in my late 20's and it makes no sense that I get acne. Can it be somehow related to dieting? My food diery is open so feel free to have a look. Maybe there is something?

Maybe your body is detoxing. If so, it should be just temporary, and then your skin will be even better than before.0

did you just get off or start taking BC pills? Hormone issues can cause acne.0
-
what do you have against acne?0

Do you wash your face or use a cleansing cloth after sweating profusely? If you're working out and not cleaning your pores with at least some soap and water after then you can clog your pores that way.
Clean eating is usually recommended when you have acne since it's claimed to clear you up from the inside so as long as you're not constantly eating junk you're alright. Also, constant hydration.
Personally I'd just suggest getting something like Noxcema which is made for adults and washing your face in the morning and at night and spot treating with tea tree oil.0 -
Yeah I would definitely say detoxing. But hey, if it starts to get worse and you're a fan of community websites, I would suggest checking out this site: Acne.org
They have support and remedies there.
*That's where I got rid of my acne0 -
Wow! Thanks for fast replies! I am not at BC at the moment and I avoide junk as well as proseded foods like plague so I guess it must be dotoxing
This is good news actually! Thanks;)

It could be anything from hormone imbalance (or rebalance), to diet, to stress or even sweat and sebum build up from working out (or skin drying out and overcompensating if you're showering wish non sensitive cleansers several times a day). If it's the latter make sure you exfoliate and try to use mild shower gels and facial gels especially if you're showering more than once a day and use a light moisturiser... however this is just my opinion if it persists and is not just a rare breakout I'd speak to a doctor or dermatologist.0

medical professional here, just so you know "detoxing" isnt really a thing. If you had toxins even at very small levels circulating around your body you would be EXTREMELY sick. detoxing is one of a long line of bro-science fads and buzzwords created to appeal to people taking off weight and seeking health.
More than likely, which the weight loss you are experiencing a hormonal shift. Estrogen builds up in fat stores and is released after dramatic weight losses. This is why often times a women who has not been able to conceive will be able to after a dramatic weight loss.
What can you do about this? first of all, avoid further irritation. I suggest washing your face with water only once a day. in the morning maybe only wipe off with a moist towel or a facial cleansing towelette (walmart brand is fine) and avoid touching your face. if you have a tendency toward touching your face consider washing your hands more often. Also, consider what type of makeup you use. I find that Neutrogena Healthy Skin liquid makeup applied sparingly not only looks great but doesnt seem to hurt my skin at all, maybe even the opposite.
Just question what you know about skin care? Do you really need moisturizer or is that a ploy to sell you a product? I can tell you that my face improved greatly when I quit with moisturizer altogether.0 -
Thank you very much! This really makes tons of sense!
I generally wash my face with soap so i guess this is going to change.
I use facial cream because I have mixed skin (oily in the middle and dry everywhere else)0 -
Do you have a trader joes near you? They sell a tea tree oil cleanser for the face that is just lovely for acne but not too drying, and it wasnt more than 5 dollars. Maybe try that instead of soap while you are at it.0

I live in Denmark so we have different shops here but I'm sure I can find a similiar products here. That's for suggestion0

Oh! Cool
Well the good news is that if it is acne from a hormonal shift (which I think is most likely) it will probably pass in a while without much of a fuss. Just try not to pick.0 -
Thanks again. This was really helpful0

I had acne in my twenties and occasionally get breakouts now, and something I've found helpful is to spend time in a steam room. I don't know about Denmark, but in the UK a lot of swimming pools and gyms have a steam room, along with a sauna and hot tub. If you have access to a steam room, I'd recommend it. I find the steam room helps the skin detox faster - it gets the impurities out of the skin, brings the spots to the surface, so they clear up faster.0

same thing is happening with me, i still sometimes get detox headache0
