Polar HRM-what am I doing wrong!?

For starters, thouroughly disapointed in this product, set up shouldnt be this complex, or maybe I am just dim....anyways,


I ordered the Polar FT4 through amazon. Get it in the mail, get the watch set up, read all the instructions, wet the chest strap, tightened it to a snug fit, hit the go button...."please check transmitter" k. Decided to get a new battery for it, maybe I got a dud.

Now it just reads 00 as my HR. I have washed the strap, I have wet it, re-wet it, I have worn it 5 minutes before I go out to run to let it "warm up". Nothing. The entire work out 00. I have tried raising it on my chest, lowering it a little, warming up so I can easily feel my own heart rate and making sure I am place the strap where I feel my heart. Nothing.


Any ideas of what I am doing wrong!? i have read the enire user manual and watched the introductory video online! I am so disapointed because I saved up for it after reading such good reviews and I cant get it to work for the life of me.

    Sounds like it is bust to me. Send it back to Polar HQ - they should replace it.

    Also it doesn't work upside-down.

    yeah the little polar logo is right side up, where its upside down when i look down at it right? I have the Wearlink coded transmitter...idk if that info means anything more or not.

    No, it works either way (I've figured out as I've put it on that way before). It's a bad one, you'll need to contact your Amazon seller and request a new one.

    Thanks, thats what I ended up doing. Amazon is sending me one in the mail tomrrow and I can send back the other no problem! If this new one doesnt work I might cry lol
