Question about Goal in MFP based on TDEE/BMR

Hello :)

I started MFP back in January and have since lost 40 lbs. I did it all based on allowing MFP to set my caloric goal for me.

Well, I have been sitting at the "40lbs lost" for at least 2 months now with no budge. MFP listed my daily as 1320. I always eat back my exercise calories.

I've read a lot of threads on here discussing BMR and TDEE and have used some online calculators to find out mine.

For me:
BMR 1830
TDEE 2840
(this is based on 3-5 hours a week of moderate exercise

I put my goal as to "Lose fat/20% calorie reduction"

In order to accomplish this, my "Daily Calories to Reach Goal" was calculated as being 2266.

I understand all of this. It makes complete sense. But my confusion is coming from how to reflect this on MFP.

If I change my goal to 2286 manually should I then not add back my calories from exercise because it is already reflected in this goal? Should I not worry about my "net" number and just concentrate on my "food" goal?

I *think* that I should just concentrate on the food goal but I keep second guessing myself.

Thanks so much :)

Yes. You did the exercise bit in getting to the 2300* target, so eat that. Put your exercise into MFP as 1 calorie if you want to log it.

    * You said 2286 but I don't like to pretend it's that accurate.

Great, that is exactly what I thought. And good tip about put the exercise as 1 calorie. Thanks :)
