Fat 2 Fit HELP!?!?

Okay, Can someone help me?? I started this MFP in July. I am currently 178 lbs and 5;9". I lost 5 punds in my first 2 weeks... very happy. That was at a 1200 calorie diet. I stuck to it pretty well... went over here and there but had extra calories with exercise here and there too. BUT then I read about the whole Fat 2 Fit thing... looked into that and Itought I understand the basics. It said that my BMR is 2028... so tell me if I am understanding this correctly... if I eat just a few hundred below this I will lose weight? So... I could eat 1700 calories a day and still lose weight?? Well, that scared me... but I did move my calorie goal up to 1300-1400. I feel like I am in control on my eating. I am making good choices. I am exercising. But now the scale has not moved in the last 2 weeks. Where the heck should I be???? I really only want to lose 20-25 pounds and I will be happy. I could lose 15 punds and tone up and I will be happy. Can someone tell me where I need to be?!?!

Your bmr is more around 1575 but your tdee might be over 2000. What do you do for exercise. As a side note, 99% of the women i work with eat 1800 + for weight loss... many a lot shorter and lighter than you. I eat 2700 calories to lose weight and i am a 200 lb, 5'11" @ 12% bf guy.

Btw, not to burst your bubble but the initialy weight loss was mostly water weight from adjusting your calorie intake.
  • I take a spinning class twice a week. Then I bike or run another couple days. Trying to fit in a dvd but haven't yet. I did flipping 4 days of moving hay bales.... that was a workout.... and that was done on my no loss week! :(

Yeah, I know it was most likely water loss. But I feel like I should be losing more by now. So upping my calorie intake to 1600 or more should help me??

Well based on your stats and workout routine, 2000 would be more beneficial. What you can do is slowly up your intake to help prevent your body to gain water weight. I would add 200 calories a week until you hit 2000 calories. I would also adjust macros to 35% carbs, 40% protein and 25% fats. If you feel sluggish then up your carbs a bit and reduce fats.
  • How do I change my proteins/carbs/fats?? Playing around and can;t seem to find where or how I can do that... thanks!!
  • In order to change the % for your protein etc. you need to go into My Home -> Goals -> Change Goals -> Manual and then it will bring a page up where you can adjust all your macros.

On the goals page, click change goals. Then enter your own goals for macros.

Btw, with this method you do not eat back exercise calories.
