can you judge my food?

I was in the car for 13 hours today.
Other people ate fast food and chocolate for snacks.
I usually eat very clean and am a BMI of 19.5 ( I'd love to lose 10 pounds by the end of the month )

I had

IHOPS two egg breakfast ( 6 tbsp egg whites and a small bowl of fruit. I'm a vegetarian so I gave away the bacon and toast. ) 270 calories without the bacon but I don't know how much without the wheat toast with water.
20 almonds
2 fiber one chewy bars ( so bad for you!! ahh! )
3 tbsp reduced fat JIF peanut butter
a smallish/medium banana
nut and dark chocolate nature valley bar ( again so bad but the gas station had NO healthy food and I wasn't going to eat something from mcdonalds!! )
2 vegan no butter or oil blueberry oatmeal muffins
Plain greek yogurt with a sprinkle of cinnamon
and 1 slice natures own wheat bread.

=1,600
I feel so bad for not eating clean because I have orthorexia.
Am I going to gain weight from not exercising today? I know I'm going to be horribly bloated in the morning and i'm going zip lining! how can I make the bloat go away so people don't think im fat ?

Sounds like you're doing a good job of judging your food and yourself without our help. I hope you're in therapy.

I had to google what orthorexia was lol but now that Im informed I would like to say that your day seems great compared to how it could have went, you did make healthy choices and your not going to gain any weight. I hope you have a therapist or group to talk to about these kind of break downs and I hope you reach your goal healthily :)
  • i feel so horrible though and selfish for eating all this food though ):

I gotta say I'm pretty upset.

You went to IHOP and didn't get the ROOTY TOOTY FRESH 'N FRUITY?
  • What's that?

And great. I had a 100 calorie mini bag of kettle corn.
1,700 calories today! GAHHH! BMI 19. No wonder I'm fat.

Well, if you're a vegetarian, I want you to know how bad those little baby chicks suffered from the eggs you selfishly ate for breakfast. SHAME ON YOU!
  • You aren't winning any points by calling yourself fat, when clearly you are underweight, and ate very little. I hope your long car trip was to a treatment center.
  • I'm a vegetarian. Not a vegan. I need the protien and I don't like animals. I just don't eat meat because it tastes bad
  • no it was to Alabama. Im to fat for a treatment center silly

I think most of it is just from the orthorexia. You are letting it control you way too much. Chill out. You're fine.

I am curious as to what your weight is. And height. Because with the BMI index chart. You are far from being fat. Bloating is one thing that is temporary. But you aren't fat.

OMG your BMI is 19?!?? you poor thing. try having it be 49
  • It had butter on it and that's disgusting. Butter is gross and I don't need it. I eat very little carbs. Just because im on vacation right now doesn't mean I need to be fat and selfish and indulge like some people. That's just called being fat.
  • I entered my foods into the sight and it is saying I need to eat more calories. I am 400 calories under the suggestion. What should I eat to add good calories? I am not hungry...

You're not going to gain weight for one bad day. It evens out from one day to the next. Also, it takes 3,500 calories to gain one pound of fat. Since you only ate 1,700 calories, you definitely haven't eaten 3,500 calories more than your BMR+activity (and since you didn't stay in bed, you did have some activity).
I know that what other people say doesn't affect the way you see yourself, but you are not fat. Your BMI is 19, which is very low. You're close to being underweight. If your BMI is under 25, you are not overweight, and it's way, way below that.

What amount of calories does MyFitnessPal recommend you eat daily? If it's less than the 1,700 you ate, you can correct that by eating less in the next few days, spreading it over about a week, without going under 1,200 on any day (going under 1,200 is bad for you so you need to avoid it. With such a low number of calories, you don't get all the vitamins and other nutrients you need.)

In short, don't beat yourself up. You made smart choices and your total number of calories is still under the average recommended for a woman (2,000). To know how big of a "splurge" it was, we really need to know your BMR (you can calculate it in "tools"), multiplied it by your activity level, and the number of calories MyFitnessPal recommends you eat daily.

They are right, you need therapy, unless your therapist told you to use this site/app to help you deal with your condition. People here ARE trying to learn to eat healthy, most to lose weight or condition for something specific. I don't know if you'll find enough people recovering from orthorexia to get a good support base.

I don't often send people to other sites that charge fees, but you may be better served by going to beyondiet.com to read about healthy eating. Then use this site to track your eating habits and find out if you are eating up to a nutritious level.

Your stats scare me. 4'7 and 84 pounds? You don't need to lose any weight! Please be careful, because being too skinny can kill you!
  • I really would love to lose 10 pounds though! I'd love to be skinnier then normal or fat!
  • Protein helps control bloating, I wouldn't worry about 1 day. It's more than 1 day that will really start catching up with you. Sometimes it's nice to give your system a break. Have fun zip lining! I'm also BMI 19.5, and that last 10 lbs is so hard!!!!! I just want my jiggly thighs to go away! Good luck!
  • My thighs aren't jiggly :P ha.
Mine are 14 inches around at the top! I have belly " fat " though.
