Having Surgery...Go to Sedentary?

My profile is currently set to active, giving me 1700 calories a day.

I am having knee surgery on Wed, and expect to be knocked on my butt for about a week before being able to add any activity back in. I am assuming I should set my profile to sedentary for that week...am I assuming correctly?

If I were you, I would. I would also not beat myself up too much about that week, give yourself a stress-free week to heal properly :3! I hope you feel better soon!

Healing takes energy and you will be on medication so worry more about you overall health than a few pounds that may or may not happen.

If recovery for that week is anything similar to the 8 weeks I spent recovering from lumbar disk surgery a couple years ago, I would set it to sedentary. I laid in a recliner for most of it. Interestingly, I lost about 8 pounds during my recovery. Go easy on yourself and I hope you make a speedy recovery!
