If you are hungry, I say eat. Try not to eat carbs tho. Stick with protein and veggies. Also, your metabolism is highest right after a work out, so I don't see too much harm eating that late...especially if your body is telling you that you need it.0

Doesn't matter when you eat. The whole "don't eat before bed" thing is a myth. Your body won't be like "I'm gonna shut down and quit burning calories now because its 9:00." Its all about the calorie deficit, not the time you consume the calories.0

If you're hungry then eat. If it bothers you to eat that late then have something small. Sometimes when I eat late and before bed it doesn't sit well with me and I can't sleep.0

Why not carbs?? Veggies are carbs!! If it fits in your macros, carbs are fine.
Many bodybuilder have a slow absorbing protein shake right before bed for recovery and nutrition. If you are hungry, Eat!! No reason not to. Just eat things easy to digest that won't wake you up with indigestion.0 -

Carbs before working out, protein after. I eat carbs for energy. If I'm going to bed, why do I need carbs?0 -

To replenish glycogen after a workout for one. Carbs are not just for short term energy. You will not recover well or adequately without replenishing depleted glycogen. The whole nutrient timing thing is just irrelevant within a 24 hour window. The anabolic window for protein synthesis is 24 hours so no reason not to have protein before a workout. And no reason to follow arbitrary rules about when to eat certain macronutrients. It truly just plain doesn't matter.0 -
If your hungry, then eat, nut betters are really good or a protein shake for late night snacking, especially if you just got through working out, you'll burn it right off, and you might just sleep really good too!0

If it just plain doesn't matter, then why the debate? I was just giving my suggestion...it has worked for me.0 -

Glad it has worked for you. The debate is because you are recommeding an unnessesary restriction with "try not to eat carbs tho. Stick with protein and veggies". There just is not any secret formula to what to eat and when within a 24 hour period. You say it's worked for you but you are recommeding veggies which are carbs. A fact I pointed out but you never addressed. I'm just not in favor of restrictive recommedations that serve no real purpose. So, it appears that you do inlcude carbs when you take nutrition at that point in the day.
I apologize that it may seem that I'm being argumentative with you. This is kind of a hot button issue with me because typically, if nutrition plans are too restricitve, compliance becomes and issue. Also, the whole nutritional timing thing is an often repeated myth around here.0
