Although I am over all trying to lose weight and tone up, I know that I am going to have to put extra effort into my belly flab!
Anyone able to offer ideas of what I can do within my own home to make the most of weightloss and tone on my stomach??
Currently I am doing things like sideways plank positions and raises/squats and seeing a difference but I am sure that wont be enough in the long term. If you can help I will love you forever!!
ps... I have dumbbells and resistance bands if that helps
thanks x

You can't spot reduce. But....
It's gonna be your diet that helps with the stomach "flab". Eating clean DEFINITELY helps.0 -
the only thing that reduces belly fat is eating at a calorie deficit. continue to watch what you eat, exercise with a good mix of cardio and resistance/strength training, and you will see the belly fat disappear.*
*but be advised, it is unfortunatly the last place to really go away. it sucks.0 -

..... and keep eating healthy of course... but to tone ab exercises can really help ... heres a few0 -
Standing ab work! I can't stand doing ab work on the floor only. So I looked up standing ab routines on You Tube & got schooled.
I am totally seeing a difference now and I likey. Mix what you learn with what you know and the you should get results Good luck & Don't stop trying.

I am basing my diet on calorie deficit as it is and I couldn't lower it any further healthily, my diet is also fairly clean...much much better than Iever have been previously. I understand spot reducing doesnt really work but there must be specific exercises that will just add a little bit more tightening, I am not looking to be ripped, but in proportion.0

As you'll see repeated countless times here, you can't spot reduce your fat; it all comes off at the same time. Now, strength training is good and you *should* be doing those exercises that you're doing for your abs! But, if you strength train all over, you'll burn more fat and loose less muscle. And good muscle mass is what keeps your metabolism up. Just be patient, don't loose too quickly and keep on getting healthy.0

at 1200 calories you are probably too low in calories to effectivly lose weight.
you need paitience to really get results.0 -

Deadlifts and squats are the best ab workouts I know of.0 -

I have belly fat issues, too. I've done Pilates in the past, and it did help to strengthen my core muscles. Stronger core muscles help maintain improved posture, and that alone makes you look thinner. The belly fat will probably be the last to go, but it WILL go. Just think how amazing you will feel when it does! Keep up the great work!0
