Best Healthy Salad from restaurants

I do not like to make salads. So, I eat them when I'm out or bring them home from fast food restaurants. I'm looking for suggestions to spread out my buying habits. I like Wendy's Apple, Pecan & Chicken. What are your suggestions?

My suggestion is to make them at home.

Wendy's Apple Pecan Chicken Salad has 570 calories and 27 grams of fat. That's nearly my day's allotment for fat.

One of my favs to make at home...

    Spinach/Lettuce
3 oz. Tyson Diced Chicken Breast
A few sprinkles of feta cheese
    Honey Roasted Pecans
    Fresh Strawberries and Blueberries
    Lighthouse Pomegranate Blueberry Vinaigrette Dressing

    305 calories
About 10 -15 grams of fat

I like El Polo Locos chicken caesar salad if you get it without dressing and use salsa instead it is only 295 cals, I also love the wendys chicken pecan salad, I also make alot of salads at home, one of my favorites is similiar to the one climinole posted. You can also find premade salads that are good at trader joes

I like McDonald's Southwest Chicken Salad... calorie count isn't bad, but it's quite high in sodium: http://www.livestrong.com/thedailyplate/nutrition-calories/food/mcdonalds/southwest-chicken-salad-w-dressing/

I think I'm better off getting that salad vs. a Big Mac and fries, though... :) I do think agree with the other poster that it's probably much healthier to just make them yourself, most of the time. If you buy pre-cooked chicken (I like Trader Joe's Balsamic/Rosemary Grilled chicken), putting together a salad at home really doesn't take much time at all.

I agree with breyn2004. With spinach and lettuce now conveniently pre-packaged, it is very easy to make them at home. Some already have some veggies inside.

Or you can add all the fresh veggies you want to these salads. Carrots, celery, red cabbage, cucumbers, onions, bell peppers... and I like to add slivered almonds to mine for a crunch and an alternative to croutons.

A handful of almonds (about 23) contains high amounts of protein, fiber, monounsaturated fat, vitamin E, calcium and other important minerals, and phytochemicals that may help protect against many common diseases.

The main item to watch is your choice of dressing. Watch the calories/fat in the prepackaged dressings. Good luck!!

That's what i eat if Wendy's is on the menu for dinner. I have alot of calories to start the day with, so this isn't going to kill me.
