50+ Buff or on the way?

I get feeling kinda lonely since most of MFP is younger folks. I am 59 and on my way to being buff(ok, I am dreaming of being sexy at 60)

Would love to see how many here are over 50 and working toward their dream of being buff and sexy. And how about what we might do just for us when we reach that goal?

"When" I reach my goal I want to go someplace awesome where I can go to the beach in bikini, go out dancing in a darling dress, and sit down to a normal dinner and have people wonder how I keep my figure and eat like that:laugh:

Calie!! Awesome, oh thanks for posting:) Maybe we can go to Cancun together! Yeehaw!! I have a friend here that is 83 and she is lovely. She works on her ranch every day and is in great health! She was heavy back in the day and lost weight in her 60's. She doesn't do traditional exercise but you can bet she burns it off on that ranch;)

    Hugs, denise:flowerforyou: :drinker: :drinker:

Denise, I am 58, and have a couple of observations in response:

First of all, you're not just "on your way" to being buff / sexy -- you're THERE. And I speak as a qualified expert in looking at the womenfolk.

Secondly, I can't say I share your goals. I'm definitely not planning to wear either a bikini or a darling dress anywhere (dancing or otherwise)!

    Have a great weekend!

Good to hear from you Denise hey that would be nice. Yourf riends sounds wonderful. I bet she does work it of. I needed to lose 50 lbs when i first met you over 4 years ago and i still do. But i am on the insulin resistance diet and it is wonderful. So I have high hopes:bigsmile::bigsmile:

Well I think a bikini or dress would yes, be inappropriate for you but then..what are you going to do special when you get to where you want? Thank you for the lovely compliment but I am a far cry from buff, LOL! We gals have secret ways of covering our fats;) LOL!!

I'm with ya, Denise! Never thought I'd be working out with 15 lb. dumbbells so that's a big milestone for me. My husband would love me to wear a bikini but I'm more comfortable in a tankini, being a grandma and all. :)

Glad you are here:) I think too many folks just stop trying. Like believing the lie that you can't be in shape and healthy after some certain age:)

whatever you are comfy with and I don't think you look like the gramma's I used to see. We older folks are gettin with the program. Used to be just a handful of people. Now, lots of us are getting the "right stuff" ;):drinker: :drinker:
  • Working on it.....got to figure out how to tighten up when I sit at a desk all day! I just turned 55 but am having great success with MFP. 13 lbs. off but another 15 to 20 would be ideal! So thankful for the support I get - a great group of people - most of whom are 50+.
  • hello I am 51 I just want to turn heads again!!!
