Kitchen essentials

I am moving into a new house next week, and I need to stock my fridge/freezer and pantry with lots of healthy goodies. I'm wondering what your must have kitchen items are. Here are some of mine:
1. Avocados
2. Sweet potatoes
3. Chickpeas
4. Brown rice
5. Pete's coffee

Lots of fruit, veggies, greek yogurt, popcorn, nuts, chicken, fish, sweet potatoes, Healthy Choice meals. Thats pretty much it. I live by myself so i don't buy anything that would tempt me.0

a food scale and measuring cups!
Agreed!0 -
1. Organic Coconut Butter (instead of peanut butter... YUM!)
2. RAW Organic protein powder
3. Cinnamon
4. True Lemon (freeze dried lemon for my water bottle)0 -
lots of fresh veggies...carrots, peppers (sweet and spicy!), lettuce, tomatoes, broccoli, squash, zucchini, peas, etc.
fruits like apples, bananas, kiwi, strawberries, mango, blueberries, sweet cherries, oranges, etc.
tea! tea is really good for you. I like green tea with a packet of splenda and a small dash of cinnamon or Starbucks Vanilla Rooibos tea just plain. Both are really good and are zero calories, so instead of reaching for juice, brew a cup of tea. or, brew it in bulk and keep a pitcher of it in the fridge (think green tea with some lemon juice) and you have an instant cold drink, too!
an infuser is also good if you don't like plain water. just slice up some fruit, put it in the pitcher, and bam! instant flavoured water
also, spices are good to keep around. it keeps you from using extra salt and keeps your taste buds busy so you aren't craving other unhealthy things.0 -
Greek yogurt
Cottage cheese
That's assuming you use/eat those.0 -
Lots of herbs and spices, preferably not mixes because they're generally full of salt unless you look for the no salt versions.
Almond Fresh milk for my Kashi Go Lean or Fibre One Clusters cereal, saves me 80 calories.
Going to be adding lentils and hemp hearts for extra fibre and protein.
Eggs,
Whole wheat pasta,
parmesan, havarti, cheddar
Balsamic vinegar
fruit (a lot of berries, oranges, bananas, apples, grapes)
some chocolate,
nuts and things for baking healthy muffins.
Yogurt
Cottage cheese
Avocadoes
Sprouts (spicy alfalfa and radishes mix)
Spinach
Kale
Mushrooms
Broccoli (it's stupid how much I love plain steamed broccoli. Stupid)
Olive oil
And yes, measuring cups and a little scale. 4 oz. chicken never looks like 4 oz. to me.0 -
Yoghurt and kefir
Eggs
Lots of legumes
Onions and garlic
A big spice rack
A variety of nuts
Bananas, cherries, apples or peaches
