What does "net" mean?

Hi everyone!

After I put in my foods for the day and exercise, I see my "net" but I do not know how to use it or think about it.

How do I use this information?

Thx much,

Austin

Its your total calories in after exercising. (ex. Food=1200-Workout=600 so Net=600)

If your calorie goal is 1500 for example, your net should 1500 calories.

If MFP tells you to net 1500 calories a day to lose 1 lb a week for example, you want your NET number to be 1500 calories. So if you burn 500 calories, you need to eat 2000, and that makes your net 1500.

The calorie level MFP suggests in your plan based on the goals you put in should be your goal for calorie intake...even after exercise. There is a lot of back and forth on the subject on each side of the fence.

MFP builds a calorie deficit into your goal so you lose even without exercise. One side of thought is if you exercise, you should intake the calories burned by eating more, to keep you above the minimum your body needs to operate. The other side of the fence is that you should not eat those calories back, increasing your daily calorie deficit.

I personally eat almost all of mine back.. .has worked so far, so we will see.
