Creepiest pickup attempt ever

I just had the most bizarro experience ever on my way to do some errands.

So full disclosure, I am pretty "smiley" and I generally greet everyone I pass on the street unless they look evil.

So I decided to walk over to the "main street" to do an errand, and walking down the street.

A guy walking his bike goes by and says "hey beautiful, how are you?" Cheesy line, yes, but he was cute so I replied with "good how are you...." He replies, stops and turns around so we can chat. We make small talk and introductions. In lieu of a handshake, he goes for the kiss on the cheek. Not so common for "american" men, but not completely unusual either, so I didn't think this was too weird.

After a couple more questions, I am assuming he is going to attempt to get my number/facebook me/whatever. He says, "we should hang you right now!" I think this is a little weird, and I reply maybe later. "well, I am headed in the other direction, but before you go I want to kiss you." And he leans in to go for it.

I am thinking WTF, offer up a cheek and walk quickly out of there.

What kind of bizzaro behavior is this? I would use the word awkward to describe this, but that definitely isn't right. Creepy is more accurate.

What kind of person tries to make out with someone on the sidewalk 2 minutes after meeting them?

My neighborhood is pretty dense, and I don't even run into people I actually know, so I probably won't be running him again. I hope.

    he just wants fun. he doesn't really want the whole gf thing. This is just my opinion take it lightly. He probably thought you were into it too since he assumed you smiled and kept talking with him.

    I wonder if this works the opposite way, should I attempt to make out with guys I think are hot within moments of meeting them?
