What happens if you do not eat all of your allotted calories? Is it bad for weight loss????? Help!

I would say yes, because your body isn't getting enough fuel. If you've set your goals for weight loss, MFP has already created a calorie deficit for you. This means eating all the calories it gives you allows for you to still lose weight. If you eat fewer, you may not be giving your body enough energy and will probably not see the results you want.0

Okay thank you so much I am REALLY behind on daily calorie intake! Thanks(:0

Can be if your nutritional needs are not being met. Also too little can mess wit hyour matabolism and cause body to hoard instead of burn. Thinks it's in starvation mode. I'm finding this tool to be awesome actually seeing what goes in. Hard part is to eat 5-6 small healthy meals. Takes a lot of time to keep food preped in advance. Just takes planning and gets easier. Hope this helps. :happy:0

It's 10pm and I still need 1002 calories and I don't want to eat late because it's bad. I'll probably start fresh in the moring, hope it isn't bad. I can eat all day it's I burn a lot of calories off, it's hard!0

Maybe think of it weekly, as opposed to daily. Going under one one day isn't going to stall your weight loss or put you into "starvation mode". You might end up a little over on another day. Don't stress about it....that's even worse.
Good luck!0 -
Good Lord (sarcasm dripping) one day short on calories isn't going to hurt you or your weight loss. One or two days a week will NOT hurt a thing. People get sick and eat nothing for days and they survive it. Please don't panic over one day or two days. STARVATION MODE IS A MYTH please don't fall into that trap of believing it.0

Thanks.. I'll take your advice, I seem to do this a lot lately, I have to work on that. At school I don't eat for hours I go over hungry. I didn't realize that I was that off. Thanks again!(:
Good luck too(:<30 -
It's okay. I mean, just eat when you're hungry. Unfortunately for me, I'm one of those people that's hungry all the time! lol0

I am too! But my tummy shrunk because of school from 7 to 430 I could not eat! I can't get enough but I NEED to loose weight and I exercise like a maniac0

Don't eat back the calories you "earn" by exercising. But don't set your count too low. You should eat 200-300 cals every three hours throughout the day for maximum energy and weight loss. Doing this every day will make your metabolism burn calories like a furnace! Remember, 60%-70% of our calories burned are from our BMR (Basal Metabolic Rate). If you haven't found an estimate for your BMR, there is one available under the 'Tools' section. Don't go below your BMR for your daily allotment of calories. Your body will adapt quickly to a low calorie diet which is why so many people starve themselves and never lose weight! You don't have to starve yourself to lose weight. I have Chris Powell's Carb Cycle Solution typed up in a shortened version if you are interested in giving it a shot. Shoot me your email address if you wanna check it out. I'm never hungry on the plan and have TONS of energy! And you get a "Free Day" to eat whatever you want!!0

If I am under my calorie goal for the day and I am not hungry I just dont worry about it. I dont make myself eat just to meet a number. If you are consistently under goal try adding small things throughout the day. Use full fat dairy instead of low-fat, add some healthy fats, etc. I also dont eat back exercise calories. They are nice as a little buffer zone...but I dont use them as an excuse to eat more.0
