Yes, it seems low to me. I am 5'10" and my goal weight is 185. Based on past experience, I am around a size 12 at 185 which for me is lovely. Could I be smaller? Of course. But I figure when I get to 185 I will see how I feel and go from there. The healthy range is like the 130's to the 170's if I recall correctly.0

I feel that would make me look like a stick lol0

I'm 5'10" as well, 155 would just be laughable on me.
I'd look like Christian Bale in The Machinist.0 -
Im 5'11 and my goal weight is 189. If you want to determine your goal weight below is a link to how to figure.it out.

It is on the smaller end of the scale for a man, but my hubby only weighs slightly more than that and could probably get down to this weight without looking like a stick, so I guess it depends.0

RIGHT NOW I am 6 feet tall and weigh 176 lbs ...
so unless you have a VERY small frame, 155 lbs sounds like it's too low.0 -
Well I'm 5'10" and I am at goal but I am a girl (and a pretty old one at that) and I weigh 164 back in the day when I worked for the airlines my top weight was 141....I was way too thin back then....caused many eating issues later in life...You will know when you hit goal, and if you don't everyone around you will be sure to put their two cents in...believe me...haha0

Ya, he said I have a small frame for a Guy, he could overlap his fingers around my wrist and ankle0

I'm 5'10" on a small fram and156-158 is about right. Those BMI calculations seemtobeoff, I'm at 22.4% which is towards the high end.0

I think 155 is a bit low....I know it is what is recommended but personally 170 is good for me but my body like 180...0

<
5' 10'' 155lbs.
So yes you can look good at 155, If you had a very high percentage of muscle and low body fat. This is what 9% looks like.0 -
I'm 6' and one trainer said 150-170 would probably look awful on me. My dr. said don't pay mind to weight so much as under 28% on the BMI chart. I've set myself at 200 and will ultimately shoot for around 190, I would say.0

It depends on the individual really. I am 5'10 and roughly 135 and I am healthy. Because of my body chemistry 135 is fine, but for someone else that may be unhealthy. Know your body, and remember that health and fitness are not completely measured by numbers on a scale.0

Yes that seems low. I am 5'8" and when I was in school I was 145 I look at those pics now and I was way too thin, I would think 170 would be best for my but would be happy at 180 and that might be the weight that would be good for you since your taller. I think 155 would make you look sickly for your heighth. But what really matters is how you feel at whatever weight you get too not what someones ideal model should look like. We all have different bone stucture so what is good for one might not be good for someone else. You will find your comfortable weight.0

Ya, he said I have a small frame for a Guy, he could overlap his fingers around my wrist and ankle
That's funny. It shouldn't matter if HE could overlap HIS fingers around your wrist. It's if YOU can overlap YOUR fingers around your wrist, then you have a small frame. His fingers have NO bearing on YOUR body frame. :laugh:0 -
Weight means nothing. What matters is how much muscle you have and your body fat percentage. The higher the ratio the better you will look, regardless of your weight. Your doctor isnt technically wrong, if you worked at it you could look great at 155, but yes if you are not trying to have abs you'd still look good at 165 170 probably 15% or so0

ur dr seems wierd. mine keeps telling me to weight about 150 at 5'11 (girl) and i have a medium frame. get down to whatever you feel best at and eat healthy.0 -
I think anywhere between 160-180 is a good weight0
-
Yeah I think it is low I say 160 to 1850
-
I'm 5'9, 150 and Size 4.. I'm def. not too thin.
As wolf pack said, I have a good amount of muscle and decent body fat(20%)... and thats why I look ok at this weight.0 -
I'm 5'9 and 148 @22% fat. My original goal was 140, I look good at that weight ( even though 8lbs is not a lot for 5'9), but...I would look even better at 135. They both are healthy weights. Even 148 for 5'9 is healthy, it depends on what you are looking for. A healthy range for 5'10 is wide, so it depends on what end of that range you wanna be0

My husband is 6ft2 and 158. But that's just how he's built... Aim for what feels right for you!0 -
155lbs is too low for a guy at 5'10. I'm 6'0 and weight 185 appox just now. I was about 182 a few months back when I was at doctors and he suggested that I drop down so my BMI was lower. I think he said I would need to be at least 176 or something. I lifted my shirt and showed him my abs and said how do I need to lose weight? My bf at that point was something like 10% and in range for an elite athlete. He still couldnt grasp my argument about bf and was insistent on BMI - I told him that I disagree and would not be making changes based on his recommendation.0

im 5 ft 9 and weigh 143 lbs, and my body fat is 23%. im in no way shape or form 'skinny' it depends on your body fat etc.0
-
One thing I've definitely learnt is that doctors and their advice can be bs.... if that number feels to low for how you are feeling/looking then adjust as you go along. Ultimately what you feel looks good and feels good is always going to be the perfect number for YOU0
-
I think this is highly individual. I'm continually surprised at the wide range of weights for people my height, and how they can all look great.
I'm female, so of course that makes a difference. I'm 5'10" and 143 at 25% body fat, and I have a small frame (my fingers overlap about an inch around my wrist). My goal is to increase muscle and decrease body fat, so if I gain weight but not inches, I'll be perfectly happy.
My husband also has a small frame. He's 6'1" or so and 175 roughly. He's definitely a healthy weight but he's working on building muscle and getting healthier also. Just like me, he could weigh more and carry it well if it were muscle. He could also weigh less and carry it well if he were to lose fat.0 -
I'm 5' 11" and at 155 i would look sickly. By New Years Eve i'm shooting for 185 as my goal weight.0
-
I'm 5'10 and my goal weight is 174. This is *just* within the healthy weight range on the BMI. If I get to 180 and feel I look good, and I'm fit and healthy then I will stop there though. I have a big frame (wide shoulders and hips), so I don't want to look ridiculous just so that a Doctor can say I am a 'healthy' weight.0
-
Depending on how much muscle you have it would seem about right. Given that I am a girl at 6'0" and weigh 161. I am trying to get down to 155. So you being a guy and a couple inches shorter, 155 would be a healthy weight for you. I would say 160-170 if you built up your muscle mass.0

Check out www.fat2fitradio.com or phone app fat2fit. Good calculators. Let me just say everyone is different. I'm 38, 5'8" male. My first goal was bmi of 22, 145lb which sounded low. Reached that my goal now is 137 based on fat% of 14. Almost there and still feel I can loose maybe a little more.0
