Why am I not hungry?

I have a fairly odd concern. I love my food and don't normally have issues eating at least my calories. I'm currently on 1400 but I have been averaging closer to 1500 with exercise. My challenge lately has been a random loss of appetite. I have been eating my calories but have resorted to things like cookies and high calorie foods to do it just because I haven't been hungry and I have no idea why.
I'm not depressed, I sleep the same as I have always done, I haven't changed activity seriously, no stress, no changes in my life. Is it possible that my body has adjusted to eating less? I somehow doubt it but I can't come up with whatever other reasons there are. Any thoughts?

Have you increased protein and decreased carbs (especially sugar) because that always kills my appetite!0

Not in any kind of deliberate thought out way. My diary is open.0 -
When I get myself into a regular eating schedule, and eat at around the same times everyday, I find I don't feel as hungry either. If I wait too long to eat, that's when my body starts protesting! It's possible that your body is just getting accomodated to your new lifestyle. I think you're fine.
A good way to add calories is to use things like nut butters, nuts, avocados, and protein shakes. This way you're getting more cals to meet your goals, but not adding extra things that come in, say, cookies. Small amounts of these things alone are not meant to be full meals, but you can use them to supplement.
I hope this makes sense!0 -
yup, i agree that if you want to eat higher calorie foods because you don't feel like eating much, nuts are a great way to go. I LOVE nuts, but have to watch how much I eat bc they are a high cal, high fat food... but so delicious! (and better for you than cookies, though a cookie now and then won't kill ya either)0

Having the same issue here. I am rarely hungry anymore. I do tend to eat more protein and less carbs, I basically eat what I want in moderation, drink my daily water....hardly hungry most days...I am a little perplexed as well. I do not eat back any exercise calories because I have a hard enough time just eating enough to get close to my daily net calories.0

Shut up! Take advantage of it! You don't have to eat back your calories! Seek a greater variety of foods in small portions. Try fresh fruits if you like sweet stuff, it's way better than cookies and what not.

On my food diary it keeps telling me not eating enough calories and I may be putting my body into starvation mode. The way I feel is if I am not hungry why should I eat I think that would be defeating the goal I am working towards. I know that I have started walking 3 miles a day and am generally more active so I am not going to stress over it and keep doing what I am doing and hopefully it will work.0

I am 4 weeks in and I have found that my appetite is a lot smaller as well. I just think this cannot be bad and so I am going with the flow. I trust my body 100%, good luck with your journey x0

Looking back through your diary I noticed a trend. on the days you ate at our near your 1500 cal goal your fat intake was at or below your goal. On the days you didn't eat as many calories your fat intake was double or more. Think that might be it?0

I tend to go through phases where I'm not very hungry (today is an excellent example). I just let it ride and eat when I do feel hungry. It's not the end of the world if you have a few low calorie days.0
