Wearing HRM watch on a general day

I wore my Sportline heart monitor calorie counter watch when I showed my friend around Seattle all day, it said I burned almost 2,000 calories at the end of the day. We did A LOT of walking around. Makes me wonder if it's weird to wear it more often, even if it's a walk around the mall. I just thought it'd have more accuracy on that than MFP.

The thing about the hrm is that it shows you calories you would have calories burned anyway by your heart just beating.0

HRMs are intended for sustained, aerobic exercise - not daily activity. You would be better served by using a BodyBugg or some such device to track your daily TDEE.
Here's a good blog post about HRMs.-
