Do you make a comment or send a message to one of you MFP friends when they haven't logged in awhile?

If you were in the habit of regularly exchanging messages, why not.

Message them...maybe all they need is a little boost.
  • Only if they were a good "friend" out of concern for them.

I have. But I go through my friends list on occasion to see if their accounts are still active. If not, I delete them. And I feel sad.

I think at the end of the day, it's about yourself. I'd probably be a little irritated if someone said something about me not logging in. Maybe they aren't able to get to a computer or they're phone. Maybe they're experimenting with not logging. There's lots of things that could be causing it.

Depends on if it's someone I communicate with or not.

When the automated message "so and so hasn't logged in in 3 days" or whatever... I usually comment or message, "come back to us!!!" or something... If it gets to be like a week or more and I know they're not on a vacation or work trip or something to prevent them from coming on, then I just unfriend :-)

I have but I don't think showing a lil concern is an issue .. we add people for support, so that is what I do (support them)
I have known a couple people who weren't logging for personal reasons (holiday, family issues) , and I totally understand that .. still nothing wrong with sending them a message, and if you know why they aren't logging, you can address that (like the vacation, I would say "hope your having a blast, can't wait to hear all about it"

I have said something along the lines of, been missing your post, hope all is well (sent through the mail option, since that goes to their email)

of course, if they never talked to me or even posted to their wall and have been gone for a while, I will usually just delete them (30+ days of no logging)

Since I don't know most of the people I friend here, I usually don't. For people I was friends with first - I go and harass them on Facebook.

Im here on this website, because I am a winner and I want to be a loser! :) I add alot of people on my friends list, but they have got to be a winner. IF they are not serious about losing weight/ and or getting in shape then you have no need being on my friends list. If some one doesnt log in for 5 days I delete them after sending them a message at day 3. Im here to win and I need all the encouragement I can get. And vise versa for my friends!!!

I have actually just deleted two or three people on my friends list that haven't logged in for more than a week. All but two of my "friends" are strangers on the internet anyway. What's the point of sending them a message on MFP if they aren't logging in? They'll never see it.

If I "know" and regularly interact with them, I have and do, just to make sure everything is okay and see how they are doing. I have a few friends on here who I regularly communicate with. If it is more of casual friend, no.

Just curious why you delete after 5 days? I have a number of friends who went on vacation this summer for a week or two and weren't online while away but they are totally committed and real winners. I will probably delete people who don't sign in for more like a month, or if it becomes a regular thing rather than one period away this this.

if you send it through the mail option (not the wall post) it goes to the email they signed up
most people won't change the settings, so they will get notified
