Water Retention??

Quite a simple question I know but what are the reasons, causes of water retention and how does it affect our overall weight? Is it a bad thing?...

Excessive sodium, hormonal changes and not drinking enough water all make your body retain water. It's not "bad", exactly, but it will make you fluctuate in weight. Basically, the more water you drink, the better you'll be and the less water you'll retain to get a more accurate weight reading.0

I struggle with this. TTOM and if I eat anything salty and go out into the heat. I just have to realize the gain is only water.0

Thanks for the info...I know it sounds foolish but I was questioning myself wondering if drinking lots of water was actually worsening the problem even though I know myself I'm not drinking enough so I guess I need to keep it up0
