Bruises when you up exercise?

So I have no idea if this is normal or if I'm either doing something wrong or my diet is wrong but whenever I up the cardio exercise I do, in most cases running, by a fair bit I start to get a lot of random bruises. Usually on the outside sides of my calves and thighs. They don't hurt just unattractive and I assume it's because something is a bit off.
Anyone else experience this or know why I might be? It's only a minor problem but it happens enough to be an obvious pattern and if I can solve it I'd like to.

I don't know if this is related or not, but when I started spinning, I got some random bruises on my legs. I have one huge one on the inside of my thigh and various little ones all over my thigh.
I don't know if it's because of strenuous or because I'm clumsy and banging myself getting off the bike.0 -
It probably has more to do with what you are eating than the exercise. If you've started adding more veggies and other foods high in Vitamin K and either eating more oily fish or taking a fish oil supplement, these both lower your clotting factor and can temporarily lead to bruising more easily. So can deficiencies in certain vitamins and minerals.0

I bruise quite easily - but I can always remember how I got each bruise, they don't appear randomly. If I were to start getting 'random' bruises which I couldn't remember knocking myself etc. then I would probably chat to my GP about it - not to worry you but I think it can be a symptom of other things going wrong, it's always worth discussing changes like this with a health professional, if for no other reason than to put your mind at rest. It may of course just be a vitamin or mineral deficiency, but a health professional should be able to advise you on that also. Hope you get to the bottom of it!0

I got them too when I started exercising hard for the first time. Random bruises would pop up all over my legs. They eventually went away, but once I started the Insanity workouts (even more strenuous than I was used to) it started happening again. I read online and it seems like a common problem in people that are exercising harder than they are used to and losing weight. I don't think it's really anything to worry about, but get them checked out if you feel it necessary!0
