What HRM do you use?

Can anyone reccomend a decent HRM that isn't too expensive? I need a more accurate calorie count. Thanks!

I use a Garmin Forerunner as it has GPS and keeps my running distances / pace honest but that's probably overkill for your needs.

Check out the Polar FT4 and/or FT7 they're both pretty affordable and have gotten great reviews here.

I also use a Garmin Forerunner. Remember that you get what you pay for a lot of times. A cheap $20 walmart HRM won't be nearly as good as a better $60-80 Polar version.

I have a Polar RS100 from Amazon and it only cost me around 65$. Works great. Make sure you get one with a chest strap, to be accurate. It allows you to enter your age, weight, height so that it is dead on. I like how you can see what range of your HR you are in. I always try to be pushing it to 75%-85% so it is really useful.

i just got the polar ft60. it was about $150 from amazon. it comes pretty highly rated. i also have a forerunner 305 but i wanted something smaller. i've also read that the calorie counts on forerunners are on the low side.

I'm a newbie to using a HRM. I read on here and through Polar's website. I ended up with the Polar FT4, it comes with the chest strap and is very easy to use. Especially since I had no idea what to really do with it. I got it for $64 on Amazon.... and I can NOT go out for a run now without it. I love it.

    Best of luck to you!
  • Polar f7. Love it! works great and was cheaper than other polars. its like 89 on amazon.
