Gym routines

So I've been getting to the gym 4-5 times a week.
I'm doing circuit training 2-3 times a week with 30min treadmill on the days in between.
I really get bored doing the treadmill alone and need to come up with a better solution for those in between days.
Any thoughts?

Listen to music. Or simply eat less on those days. How many calories are you burning in those 30min cardio sessions? Like 150 or less? Reduce your food intake by that much on those days and get 30 minutes back0

I plug in all the numbers on the treadmill and I typically burn about 380 calories for a 30 minutes.
And yes, the iPod is going with my workout playlist.0 -
Have you tried other machines? Maybe doing the stair climber one day, the elliptical the next?
I get a good cardio burn from doing a boot camp style workout but I do two 25 min power walks a day to get in some cardio. What about going outside to do your "treadmill cardio" instead of staying in one place.0 -
I find cardio inherently boring as hell. Some good music or shows can help but I still hate it. Have you tried running outside instead? At least there's scenery. Or just cut out the cardio and do something you like instead?0

I like to get lost in a TV show or Netflix on my iPhone when I'm on the treadmill. It makes time go by super fast. I got into parks and rec and I decided I can only watch it on Netflix while I'm at the gym. It's a nice "reward" and also a great distraction.0

Living in Houston, that's not a good option in the summer =P0 -
I agree with the above ideas - if you're going to the gym, why aren't you taking advantage of all the other cardio machines? You can do ten minutes on one and ten minutes on the next, etc. You already know about how many calories you are burning for the intensity of work you do, so you don't have to enter all your stats on each one, just jump on it and go. Call it "Circuit training" and log it that way.0

Swimming, invest in a kinect & xbox and the dance central games...I burn a ton of calories doing that. Try some youtube videos, they have all sorts of routines. DVD's...go on bodybuilding.com and try Jamie Eason's workout...just some random ideas.0

time for some new music? I also try to get lost in a tv show, soccer game, or football game while I'm running on the treadmill. I also enjoy spin as a cardio work out.0

I do over an hour everyday on the treadmill. I get my morning news on TV and sometimes it runs into a talk show. I don't usually watch TV otherwise. Sometimes I keep the TV off and I get my mind organized for the day, I pray, and occassionally I find someone who likes to chat (although I run for the first 45 mins at a faster pace and then slow enough to be able to chat)0
