Bad Knees

I can't do squats because of my knees are bad and it's incredibly painful, what is another workout that will get my thighs goin'?

    Lay on a bed or a bench and raise your legs up to your chest.

    I simply started walking. Once about 20-25 pounds came off, my knees stopped hurting. I can wear my heels all day, come home, and do squats, and my knees don't hurt. Sometimes your body is simply saying it isn't ready to do something yet.

    I'm walking now, my road is about 3/4 a mile and I walk down it and back and by the time I'm done my butt is hurting and the muscle in the ftont of my leg is hurting as well. Don't know if that's normal or not lol.

    I've done like...I don't know what they're called but you scoot off the edge of a chair and lift yourself up and down with your arms, but obviously that doesn't strain my knees and I think it's more for your arms.

    Im looking into purchasing a set of jumpers knee bands. From what Ive read they help with knee pain. I found some on em2wl.com

    Strengthen your hips, it will help your knees. I do Brazil Butt Lift because of knee pain in running. It's helped a bunch. I have muscle and muscle control I didn't know was possible. I have hip strength, inner thigh strength, and butt lift and muscle I've never had in my life.

    If you are hurting to squat, don't squat as low until you get the muscle tone other ways. Stand on the edge of a stair and do hip raises. Do planks, and bridges lifting your hips. You also can do band work with a tension band on your feet to strengthen hips to help knees.

    I have had bad knees since before I gained weight (curse you genetics!) and can't do squats or lunges. I prefere to swim or spend some time on the exercise bike. Good exercise but low impact on the joints. :-) There are also specific exercises to stregthen your knees so that may be beneficial to you.
