okay, I know it's not really success but it's just to help others hopefully realise starvation is not the answer :)

Basically: October 2010 Weight = 266lbs. Christmas (Picture on the left scuse the lame costume :P) weight = 280lbs. It was after seeing that picture that I was like ..... Really?
Hell-1.jpg

(hope that worked and wasn't HUUUUGE)
So, I don't think I realised at the time, or that I meant to, but I did, I starved myself to the point where one meal a day, yeah okay, not major starvation but it put the body into starvation and that was bad enough.
I started January 2011.
Middle picture February 2011 Weight = 242lbs
End Picture = August 2011 Weight = 202lbs.
I was happy in August, I thought I was doing well.
However, I did realise that towards the end of August (after realising I need to eat) I began putting weight back on. Quite rapidly actually.
So now I'm back at 231lbs, started training again, eating healthy, all that stuff :P losing around 3-5lbs a week, but I'm happier than I was then... because I know I'm treating the body right.

I basically, just wanted to send this message out to people, sometimes you may think yeah starvation is the answer, it's really not. Sometimes, when I don't lose what I want in a week, I do think back well........I lost all that weight starving I may aswell go back to it :(
then I look on here, and see all these lovely people who have lost 100's of lbs and they give me the inspiration I need.

so Thank you to all of you! :D

and Congrats on all the success!!

Also, wasn't really sure on where to put this :P

I new someone that more or less starved themselves and got down to her goal weight...as soon as she started eating again (even healthy) she put it all back on and then some. Starvation is never the answer so good for you for realizing that and changing it!

I learned the same lesson. I was eating a salad a day for quite awhile...and dropped 40 pounds in 2 months. Gained it all back. Thankfully, you CAN teach an old dog new tricks. :)

You live and learn. Good on you for realising that it wasn't healthy and doing it the right way. You will do it, just persevere and have faith and it'll all be fine!

Thank you for your post, its just what I needed! I started out eating 1100-1200 per day and lost pretty fast, but after loosing 25lbs I came to a complete stand still. Now I'm trying to eat more so I can do this the healthy way.

I hear ya! A while back I subsisted on juice (mainly veg that I juiced myself), soup (homemade) and a healthyish dinner of usually fish + veg. Sounds good vitamin-wise, but calorie wise was probably 1000 per day. I was always tired and hungry and felt extremely deprived ("I can't eat ANYthing...poor me"). The sad thing is I did lose rapidly initially, but it was just too hard to sustain. The second I had a real meal or 2, everything came back. Even just a few days of 1700+ (still trying to figure out my exact cal needs) and I dipped out of the 190's finally (and barely - at 189.8. But after playing with the same 2 lbs for as many months, I'll take it.)

I agree - hearing how other people figured this out has been so educational and inspirational to me. Seeing people at their fit, healthy weight and 2000 or so cals per day - that's living!

    Onward and downward....

I really needed this. I started a little over two weeks ago. MFP suggested that I net 1200 cals a day. I lost 8lbs and 9 inches in the first two weeks. I was smart enough to revaluate my intake. 4lbs a week was too much. I bumped it up to 1600 a day, and it's been three days now, and I'm really struggling with it. I'm glad I didn't go on for much longer than I did at 1200. I really messed with my head those last two weeks.

I'm so glad others have been in the same boat and Learnt, and Heish keep it up for a few more weeks you'll soon be ok :) it took me a few months to snap out of it, not losing the weight rapidly made me depressed but I always contradict myself and say good things to those who wait :)
