Thoughts on Alcohol & Healthy Living

So everybody is having a drink...do I indulge and go for a vodka and Sprite Zero? :drinker:

I've got 200 calories to spare...

YES! DO IT! Shot of vodka is 100 calories. Do you have 100 calories left in your day? Yes? Then do it.

I don't see any reason not to, as long as you're within your calorie allowance (or make up for it during the week). There's no reason not to celebrate with friends once in a while. It's a lifestyle change, not prison. :)

Dont forget to count the calories in the soda too. I usually just make 1 big drink and sip it.

Hell yes...if you've got the room! Enjoy!
  • Do you want it? Can you do it without overly indulging? Then I say to go for it! :-)

No different than anything else, i.e. sweets, pizza, or any other "bad" food. All things in moderation. :drinker:

Go for it!! I drink when I want to. It's not that often but I do have the occasional beer, wine, or vanilla rum. :drinker:

With me, I can't have just one or two drinks.... I drink to have fun and get "happy" lol I'm afraid to drink now, though because of a lot of muscle loss and fat gain. I'm worried the drinking with this new body will make me even fatter and make me lose more muscle. I have very little muscle now and have a lot more flab and fat now.

Wow! Where are all the "clean eating" nazis? I thought for sure this thread would be blown up w/ the "empty calorie" preaching.

Enjoy your drink (or two-- you said you have 200 calories left!) and remember you have to LIVE, not just survive.

mm that used to be my favorite. My bf gave up drinking so he can get his license back (he used to be a bad boy that never tried to get it back...from 6 years ago ugh) and I did to support him and also to get my lifestyle back on track. Been sober a month and took the No Alcohol August challenge...so still sober.

That's what I thought! I guess I was kind of looking for someone to talk me out of it. Kind of funny, but I don't really want to drink as much as I did when I asked the question. Everyone telling me to go for it gave me the strength not to.

Congratulations!!! It's not any easy task for some of us.
