Where to find them? I love love love my morning star black bean chipotle veggie burgers but they have 700 mg of sodium and that's just too much for me. I try oh so hard to keep sodium between 1500 and 2000.
Suggestions on where to buy pre-made veggie burgers or please post if you have a recipe I can try at home to make my own.

My local Wal-mart sells these Boca Original Vegan burgers. 70 calories per patty with 280mg of sodium. Have you tried those?0

Not yet but I'll be buying them when I grocery shop there tomorrow, thank you! I honestly thought I may have to give up my veggie burgers with all that sodium but alas, perhaps not ;-)0

Yeah, and I have to say for a guy who pretty much grew up on red meat I was actually surprised to find a VEGAN burger, of all things, would be delicious. Plus there's always that factor that, at only 70 calories a Patty, I can go back for seconds and not feel like I'm ruining my whole day.1

I made these once (I just modified the recipe and made big patties instead of minis) and they were amazingggg. I love my morningstar black bean burgers too, but these were even better!

There's a recipe in the Moosewood cookbook for walnut lentil burgers. You can choose you sodium levels.0

I just made a recipe on MFP using that recipe and it has: 164 calories, 31 carbs, 1 fat, 7 protien, 7 fiber and 366 sodium.
Not too bad. I'm going to make them tomorrow night to see how they are but I'm still buying the vegan ones at WalMart tomorrow lol!
BTW, I didn't use olive oil in my recipe at all. I use an olive oil cooking spray that has no fat, cals, sodium or anything else. All ZEREOS in the nutrition table.0 -
I have a nice black bean burger recipe, I will find the link and post it tonight.0

Ah, allergic to walnuts so that won't work for me. I did check out walmart today and they were out of the vegan burgers. Figures, lol!0 -

Someone posted this one awhile back. Gotta admit, I was a fan. They had me at sweet potato:

Also, 2nd the suggestion for using dried beans, or rinsing the beans after opening the cans to wash off some of the salt.0 -

These are super good but I haven't made them in ages so I haven't loaded it into mfp for the sodium content. You could sub dry beans for canned beans to decrease the sodium though.0 -
Dr. Praeger's for pre-made.

These are so good - the sodium in the recipe comes from the chipotle mayo and canned beans, as well as the bun. Just use no salt added beans and either make your own topping or omit it. I lettuce wrap or eat on a plate.

It's easiest to make your own and freeze them. I like this reciepe. Pretty solid reciepe you can use whatever beans or veggies you want. I left out onions and put in sweet peppers
