fast heat and go breakfast sandwiche

Hello MFP I wanted to know what you guys recommend for a fast and healthy breakfast I usually heat up breakfast sandwiches and run out the door I work really early and need to beat traffic so anything I can grab and munch on while driving would be splendid thank you!!!..How many grams of fat should I stay under for a sandwich what other nutritional categories should I keep in mind while shopping for one?

I love breakfast burritos. Scramble up some eggs (just whites for less calories) with some bacon or sausage and put them in the freezer. You can make a weeks worth and just pop them in the microwave for about 2 minutes. Awesome.0

I make my own breakfast sandwiches on sundays and freeze them so I can just grab one as I head out the door to head to work.
To make one sandwich:
1 Kroger Brand Light Multi-Grain English Muffin
1 whole egg (or egg white) baked (crack an egg into a cupcake tin to get that round shape and bake at 350 for 10-15 mins)
1 slice cheese (I use veggie cheese)
After you put the sandwiches together, leave them unwrapped in the freezer for an hour then bag/wrap and leave in the freezer. They are OK microwaved but it's best to microwave for 1 min then stick in the toaster.
I also bring half a grapefruit (sprinkled with 1tsp of sugar) with me to boost my metabolism.

I used to make sandwiches with a Healthy Life bagel, some ham, and a slice of cheese. And if you're feeling frisky, spread some Laughing Cow wedge cheese on the toasted bagel. Now that's good eating! And for the price of these ingredients, you can make the same amount of sandwiches for half the price with no added crap to it.0

Thank you for the suggestions. It never crossed my mind to make my own I'm going to most diffidently do that now!! I pay about $3.00 for two premade ones with 260 calories and 8 grams of fat..I'm sure I can make better ones0

Yes! make your own! the ones i make have 80 cals for the muffin, 40 cals for the cheese and.... there are differing accounts of how many calories are in a baked egg but even if there are a hundred (unlikely) you are still not at 260. Plus Kroger is cheap so you end up paying $5 for all the ingredients to make 6 sandwiches.0 -

Not a sandwich, but I like to make what I call "Egg muffin cups".
*Take approximately 3/4 c veggies of your choice (I use onion, green and red peppers)
*3/4 c meat of your choice (I like turkey ham)
*12 eggs
*salt and pepper and other seasonings if you desire
Spread the meat and veggies into each well of a muffin pan. Then Whisk the eggs with a bit of milk. Pour eggs over the meat/veggies. Bake for about 35 min at 350. You can keep them in the fridge for several days and take out as needed.0 -

Not a sandwich, but I like to make what I call "Egg muffin cups"
These are great, too. I make them with spinach, ff cheese, veggie sausage...or any other variation with stuff in the fridge. My mom used to make these when she was on South Beach Diet back in the day.0 -

toast an english muffin - 120 calories or less depending on the muffin
whisk an egg in a mug and put it in the microwave for 40 seconds (may be different depending on your microwave - 70 calories (plus it comes out in a perfect circle)
put the egg on the bottom half of the muffin and put a half slice of pre-sliced cheese over it and microwave for 15 secs - 50 calories depending on the cheese then put the top of the muffin on.
Super fast, cheap, very little clean up, filling, and only 240 calories. Also to mix it up you can put a slice of ham or turkey under the cheese for just a few more calories.0 -
