I drink coffee and tea together. I call it Cofftea

Yes you heard me.

I use 2 green tea bags and a teaspoon of coffee and boiling water to make my beverage. I leave it to sit for 3 minutes and drink it straight. No milk/soy and no sugar/honey or anything else.

You may commence your hatred of me ITT now.

    Not hatred.
    Confusion.

    Why??

    Because I can.

I figure I get all the health benefits and anti oxidants of green tea with the added anti oxidants of coffee AND caffeine from both ingredients.

Not that bad. It's not as bitter as black coffee because it has green tea in it. And it's not as weak as green tea because it has coffee in it.

    Nescafe gold

There are some Mate blends with a little bit of cocoa and coffee to give you a morning boost. I drink "my morning mate" from teavana so good, and I am the type to NEED morning coffee, so coming from a coffee-holic I totally get the cofftea :drinker:

I made cofftea by mistake the other day. Dumped it out without tasting it when I realized what I had done. Guess I should have tasted it first. Maybe I would have liked it. :drinker:
  • I used to work in a coffee shop and we would make Chai tea lattes with a shot of espresso and it is called a "dirty Chai". This reminded me of that.

Mm. When I get my mid-afternoon caffeine craving, but feel guilty because I should be drinking green tea, I'll keep this in mind!

I was just thinking about doing this the other day. But I'll definitely be adding creamer and splenda. And I'll probably use French Vanilla black tea.

So I tried it, and it was delicious. I used one bag of french vanilla tea, 1 tsp of instant coffee, about 6 oz of water, and two splendas. I didn't even need any creamer. So much better than I ever imagined!
  • Guess not many Asian here? Not exactly the same, but same concept as a very popular beverage in Hong Kong.

This actually sounds pretty good to me. I remember having a box of 3:15 coffee-tea (milk coffee and black tea in a teabag) and it wasn't bad at all.

I've done this by accident, too. Someone left their coffee k-cup in the Kuerig machine at my parents' and I ran hot water through it for my orange pekoe tea one morning. It wasn't terrible.
  • That's cool.. cofftea! I do it every morning too.. it's just that I don't mix it together in one cup.. 1 cup for tea and 1 cup for coffee with fresh milk. My perfect combination..hehehe
