Trying to stay positive...hate a new diet

Hi...I'm Gina. I'm 42 and am sick of carrying this extra 20-25 lbs around. I work from home and take online classes which means I sit at my desk a lot, but I'm determined to pull myself up by the fat rolls and workout at least 3 to 4 times a week. So far, my blood pressure and bad cholesterol levels are low, but I have diabetes, obesity, and heart disease in my family. I want to get myself in check before I get too much older and problems begin to creep up.

Thanks for reading this and welcome to my journey. I'd love to hear from you and tag along on your journey as well!

XOXOXOXO

  • Hi Gina,
My family history consists of diabetes, high blood pressure, and bad cholesterol too. I'm hoping to be able to miss all that excitement! Add me!
  • Happy to follow along on your journey! Remember, this is not a diet, it's a lifestyle....once you get in the groove you'll never look back. I am severely hypoglycemic and have really appreciated this food journal, printing it out, and then writing my blood glucose numbers on my page to take to the doc.

You will appreciate what you are doing now when it leads to feeling better and not having to worry about what may come in the future.

    Good Luck!!!!!

Don't this of it as a diet because everyone is on a diet. We have to eat! Think of it as adding as many good things to your body as possible. Get excited over every good choice you make. Your body will thank you for each fruit and veggie it gets. Lean protein and your heart loves you. Think of nutrients as gifts you give to yourself. Make it Christmas every day.

It's a lot easier to be excited over adding something instead of taking something away.

Me, too! In spite of my weight, my numbers are good--but that won't last forever!
