Insanity! + Protein Powder = 6Pack?

I've been doing INSANITY for 30 days now; Im currently in week 5 of the program (recovery week).
I check my weight once a week & up until week 3 I've lost 9 pounds by eating correctly & exercising.
I began taking protein powder at the start week 3 ( muscle milk 1st, then I switched to 100% gold standard whey).
This past sunday I checked & the scale said I actually GAINED 1lb! I was on vacation during week 4 yet still managed
to workout every single day. If I did anything wrong, it was that I didnt eat ENOUGH meals a day for that week.
My main goal is to tone my stomach & get a 6pack again (sadly I lost it after high school).
Should I be worried about how the protein powder can effect my goal? or was the 1lbs GAIN due to the off track eating? :noway:

The gain was due to water retention. This can happen from too much exercise. Your muscles retain water. Its not fat!0

Water retention is probably right.
Esp. with protein powder you have to drink more water than most people.
Usually it tells you that on the label.
Usual 64oz I would up it to at least 80oz0 -
The only thing that give you a 6 pack is a relativly low bod fat percentage. Keep doing what you are doing and the results will come.0
