I almost puked.

I'm not sure what I'm missing here, but working out has been hard lately. Not because I don't want to or don't have the energy but because midway through my workout I feel like I'm going to puke. The nausea hits like a ton of bricks and doesn't pass until about a half hour after my workout is over. I thought I was drinking too much water, so I cut back on the amount I drank but that didn't help much at all. I workout at around the same time everyday. I eat a balanced diet and I don't eat right before I workout.
I don't think I want to workout everyday with a trash bin by my side in case I barf. What's the deal?

Are you hyper or hypothyroid? I'm hypo and when my levels are not right, exercise makes me very nauseous.0

Are you pushing yourself too hard or maybe getting too hot?0

I get that way to sometimes. I think it is because I am pushing myself to hard.0

Are you pushing yourself too hard or maybe getting too hot?
I'm thinking that might be the culprit too. But it's kind of hard to stop mid workout, I find. My mind wants to keep going though my stomach doesn't. I'll either have to take things easier or maybe take some gravol before my workout.0 -
If you are having longer workouts then it is necessary to make sure you have something to "help" push you through. When I was seeing a trainer they asked us to eat something 1hr before getting to the gym. Also, drinks with electrolites in them help with nausea as well and chewing gum...
-PB & Crackers
-Whole Wheat Toast & PB
-Cup of OJ
Basically, the carbs & protein balance helps! I use to even do a scrambled egg and a piece of wheat toast with spray butter. I use to get nauseas all the time. Your body will eventually adjust )
Good Luck!0 -
I think that happens when you push yourself too hard while working out. Maybe cut back a little on the intensity?0

What are your sodium and potassium levels at? I was having dizzy spells off and on (sometimes during workouts, and sometimes just whenever) and the doctor told me to up my sodium intake. He recommended that I drink gatorade or such during workouts to get the extra sodium. I know dizzy doesn't necessarily equal nausea, but it might be something to look at...0

You mentioned just getting over your period. Could it be that you are slightly anemic and your body hasn't caught back up? Anemia can cause severe nausea and vomiting with exertion.0
