I eat ALOT of fruit. Can't say I've had any negative effects.0

I typically eat anywhere from 5-10 servings of fruit a day. What about you?0
-
I probably eat about 4 servings of fruit a day. It hasn't killed me yet. I love fresh fruit!0
-
About the same. I eat between 2300-2800 calories a day though0

This thread is about to get carb-police bombed.
I love fruit- It REALLY helped me get past cravings for sugary treats (like cookies and cakes). I eat a couple servings a day usually, but I wouldn't say I have a high fruit diet, really. I did when I first started changing my habits though- and it was very successful in curbing those cravings and changing my habits.0 -
That is what I am hoping for, but I am trying to figure out if it is the fructose in the fruit or my poor diet over the past few weeks (before geting back on here) that is causing me to feel that I am gaining.0

I love fruit and eat mounds of it all summer. I'm less excited about what's available in winter. I could eat my body weight in berries daily.
I like to use the excuse that as a runner I need carbs. I'm not on the 40-30-30 plan.0 -
I try to follow more of an 70-15-15 or 80-10-10 diet. But not quite there all the time.0

This totally works for sweets cravings0 -
The Carb Police
Summer is da bomb dot com. I can't help it. I eat it all. And I have fruit picnics with my little boy. Just a nice dinner plate full of a variety of fruit.
Find me the study where someone is crying "My mama fed me too much fruit." :glasses:0 -

If you're using fruit to try and alleviate cravings for other sugary treats, I would go one step at a time:
1) Eat the fruit until you no longer feel the cravings for other treats
2) slowly cut back on the fruit
Try a bit of high-octane dark chocolate, too. Even if you don't like it much at first and its too bitter, a single square can totally knock out chocolate cravings.
Even if it's temporarily hindering weight loss, the change in habits will ultimately be beneficial. Your whole weight loss process will be much easier if you're not constantly battling cravings for oreos and nutella. (those were mine!)0 -
AND we never go to the beach without a *kitten* pot full of watermelon!!! Lawd. Sand. Salt. Breeze. Waves. Watermelon.0

So it's not fresh fruit then? I only eat fresh or dried fruit.0 -
I eat a ton of fresh fruit. I just make sure it fits into my calorie goals, and things have been fine so far.0

No its fresh fruit (or frozen if I am throwing it in a smoothie) never sugars added, just the actual sugar in the fruits. If you look at my diary, you can see a ton of it in the breakfast and snack portions.0 -
This morning my breakfast was a big fat bowl of strawberries, blueberries and a cut up banana... with scramble eggs. Awesomesauce.0

That said, and this is coming from a fruit-eating, non low-carbing runner, your protein seems awfully low especially since you seem to exercise regularly. You are a vegetarian I think? I would add some legumes and/or nuts regularly to increase the protein.0 -

Yeah, I know that I need to add in way more protein. I do workout regularly, mostly cardio right now, but do work out with a trainer occassionally. I think I got in a good amount today. I am a vegan due to allergies (I am allergic to almost every animal product).0 -
Your diet looks really good, actually! I think you probably need a bit more protein. Are you a vegan?
Edit: Answered my question while was typing...I would try to get a good vegan protein powder, getting the protein up will really help.0 -

I eat dark chocolatr 88% cacao everyday. It's very bitter but I love it. You can add dried fruit to sweeten the taste, also throw in some almonds for extra protein0

Yes, I am debating protein powders right now. I know I need to get one, but I am probably the pickiest person in the world when it comes to protein powders. Prior to really becoming allergic to dairy, I used Designer Whey Natural. So I am hoping to find a soy or hemp or rice protein powder that tastes similar that I can blend in my morning smoothies.0 -
some people complain about tooth problems, hair loss...ect but as long as its not an all fruit you should be fine0

If I do eat chocolate, it is typically something right around the 80% mark (give or take a few percent). I dont eat chocolate too often, mostly one week a month (sorry if TMI)0 -
Yum fruit. I used to grow blueberries. I had to pick them everyday. And I had so many. I was eating the equivalent of a store bought container full daily (just for a few months during the summer). I would also freeze them for later. My kids called them nature's candy.0

I love fresh fruit, I eat lots every day, no ill effects here.0

Music/ I think it's fantastic that you eat fruit! I don't think you're eating too much.0

Thanks, Jawheb. I just am frustrated with my pants not fitting the way that they did not too long ago, but it very well could be the processed foods I was eating for a month or so.0 -
I don't see any tofu, tempeh, vegan meat substitutes in your diary- Maybe try some of them. I'm not the biggest fan of tofu, but I love tempeh! Quinoa has some protein, too.
I see you like burritos- maybe some more beans? Beans and Quinoa make a pretty good meal or burrito filling- I'm not a vegan, but I always keep a prepped container of black beans in the fridge to throw in to meals.0 -
I eat a lot of fruit. I just would never do a high fruit diet because there is a lot of sugar in fruit. It is ok because of the fiber in fruit, but I don't want more than 30g of sugar a day, including fruit.0
