I thought the Northwest was full of health conscious people anyway, but we seem to be very heavily represented on this site!

"time2wrk" and I suggested a get-together in the spring in Woodinville (northeast of Seattle) at the Red Hook Brewery. (They have a beer tasting tour, delicious food, and they are close to two large winery tours - St. Michelle & Coumbia Wineries, AND hot air balloon rides!)

The Brewery is right on a 40 mile long scenic bike and walking trail to sight-see or just work off the food. "time2wrk"and her husband go there occasionally and I Iive very close to there.

It would be great if any other Northwest folks wanted to come...no date yet, just in the "Who's interested? phase."

Weight loss success stories encouraged! Motels nearby (swanky or budget).

p.s. The dining room isn't huge....if it's warm enough, there is outside seating (sometimes with live music) and in the summer, there are concerts at St. Michelle, so space IS an issue in the summer.

We were just out there in July - Woodinville is very pretty and home to one of my favorite places... The Purple Cafe.

It isn't too far for me - probably 45 minutes or so. Let me know what you decide!

I wish I could! Normally I would make the drive down from Vancouver so that I could meet you all, but unfortunately I am stuck in Australia right now! Have fun though and have a beer for me!

Hehe! I don't have the legs for that kind of bikeride, considering I would be biking from Massachusetts.
  • I'd love to go. I live in Kent area. We happily go up to Woodinville for that wine tasting! Oh, my husband would come...and we're good with going to Red Hook, too. Been there a couple of times.

We are planning to move from Colorado to somewhere near Marysville (to be near the grandparents) but probably not until next summer... :( Maybe we will be there for the 2nd Annual get together???

    Have fun!!!

  • It would take me 4 hours to get there, but it is always nice to put faces to names. :-) Since it is the spring, count me in. Any earlier in the season, and I won't make it...I don't like driving the pass in dicey weather :-)

Perhaps it is the spring fever I am experiencing...or maybe it's because I have tulips and daffodils blooming...whatever the case, has anyone thought more about this and how we can coordinate the event? :-)

Yes - did anything ever come from this?

Let me know what happens & I'll make the drive. Not a beer drinker but I'd be happy to visit Woodinville, it's always beautiful!
  • Hello.. I'd love to find out if this idea goes into effect!
  • Soooo....almost a year has gone by. Anyone want to try to meet this spring? It would be great to see how everyone is doing on goals.
