Eating and getting rid of lower tummy

I am 43, and find it hard to get rid of that lower tummy. I do plenty of Cardio, usually 45 min, and every other day strength training. now that I use the site it is helping me keep track of eating. That's the only thing I wasn't doing before. Anyone else having trouble in that area?     My trainer told me to do more abdominals. Plus that the area hardset to lose. Hope this helps. :smile:

    You can't spot reduce - you can do all the crunches you want, but it's not going to go away by just doing ab workouts. I think you're making a wise decision to log your food because nutrition is key when it comes to stubborn body fat in any area. A lot of where you store fat just depends on your body type, but in general, reducing your overall body fat percentage is what will reduce the size of those stubborn areas as well.

    you can't "spot reduce" but clean eating definitely helps. i've had good success by limiting my grain intake and eliminating bread, tortillas, pasta, etc. from my diet. calories in/calories out is the main driver of weight loss, but the type of foods do matter. i can eat less calories but eat bread, and my stomach will still have a pooch. if i cut the bread and flour stuff, i can eat more calories and look leaner.

    Eating enough food! Good clean food. Then core workouts. If you don't eat enough for your body it will store fat

    I store my fat there, as you can see in my avatar. It sucks. I have to look like skeletor to get it down and there is still fat there. :(

    Thank you. I hate that "clean eating" bullsh!t. It has little to nothing to do with your bodycomp.

    If you cut out sugar you'll see results in your tummy :) It won't make you completely flat... but I've done it before and it works!

    Same here...I'm 45 and following this advice was the first thing that worked. I still have work to do but this is working. Just keep at it!

    I would add planks. They are really good fore your core and the lower abs. Everytime I do them I feel the all the way down into my pelvis. Amazing.


    Also, you may want to read this article. There is evidence that low magnesiuma and adrenal problems can cause fat around our midsection because an increase in cortisol!

    Definitely what she said!!!! Good clean food, eaten on the regular (every 4 hours or so). The big secret to being lean is TO EAT!!!
