I am trying to eat protein with each meal or snack. I have been told that fruit without protein turns to sugar but I know I need to eat some fruit everyday. But who wants an apple with something weird? Any suggestions?

  • Maybe try eating fruit with nuts or peanutbutter

You can have you a home smoothie shop and blend a protein shake w/ fruit. My favorite is a strawberry shake w/ a banana or something w/ strawberry.

Now they have peanut butter with Omega 3. Great extra!

Those are great suggestions, but I wouldn't be too worried about eating fruits such as apples without protein. Fruits contain sugar known as fructose, which is broken down slowly into glycogen and sucrose by the liver. Fructose is the same sugar in popular protein and low carb shakes and bars. Sucrose, which is simple sugar such as cane (white sugar or table sugar) is quickly broken down into fructose and glucose. This glucose causes a massive response of insulin by the body, resulting in sugar highs and stored fat. You're pretty safe to eat fruit without protein if you're concern is about sugar.
