Alright. So I think I may be a tad confused or maybe im on the right track.

So my daily calorie intake is 1200 calories a day. If I burn 1200 calories does that mean I need to eat 2400 calories to keep me at even?

Today I ate about 2000 calories. I burned approximately 1300 calories during exercising. Does that mean my input is only about 700 ish calories?

I try to burn 1000 calories a day but I try to stay at 1200 food calories. Does this mean I'm technically only Intaking 200 calories?

What should I be aiming for???

Please help!

I hope I explained my problem well enough.

Thanks in advance!

It should give you your 'net' calories in your diary if you log everything. Yes, if you only eat 1200 and burn 1000 you may as well be not exercising and only eating 200 calories. You should probably eat more. Your body may eat itself (not in a good way) to fuel your workouts.

Like today - you have 400 calories left for the day total. Assuming that you logged all of your exercise exactly, you could eat that and still be at your same goal...

Thats kind of what I thought, And Since i'm literally only supposed to be eating 1200 calories, I'm trying to take in as many calories. I dont want to lose muscle but I do want to burn fat.

1200 calories is not very much to begin with and thats why I work out and try to give myself more calories to take in.

I just want to make sure i'm not sabotaging myself.

I want to be in as healthy shape as possible and get down to my goal weight while eating healthy and not depriving myself of important calories.
  • Actually if you take in enough protein, you wont lose muscle mass... you just have to have a protein intake to sufficiently supplement your work out.

I try to have atleast 45g of protein everyday to make sure that im not losing muscle mass. My protein typically adds up to about 60-90g of protein a day =)
