how important of an ingredient is the applesauce?? these sound so delicious but the hubby is alergic to apples and I don't want to kill him with cookies!! any suggestions for replacement ingredients??

I just made these today with my daughter and we both hate them! I followed the recipe to a T and they came out semi smooshy as my daughter called them and they really had no taste, even with the cinnamon on top. I thought they were going to be kind of crunchy like a cookie but they were bad! Its too bad! We were all excited about them! :frown:0 -
I made these the other night, and by accident I used instant oats. They were not good.
